Re: Can bonnet (Jag Cat leaper) mascot be fitted without...
Yes the leaper can be fitted without drilling. The holes are under the badge, which are fixed on with double sided tape. If you are from the uk these are illegal and you can be stopped

The center arm rest is attached to the console by 2 small Hex cap screws. The arm rest and intermediate slide panel are attached to the same hinge assembly with rivets.
to replace the upper arm rest, 1st remove the assembly from the console by removing the 2 hex screws this will allow you to work outside of the vehicle on a work bench. 3 rivets hold the arm rest to the hinge. You will need to drill out the rivets using a 1/8" drill bit. and install the replacement arm rest using new 1/8" pop rivets.

hi .. if you mean bonnet badge and not grill badge .. I'm more than 90% certain it is fixed with a self adhesive pad on the back of the badge as I've never seen holes in the bonnet for the badge, have a careful look around the edge of the badge for signs of the adhesive pad.
Don't do it - they look ****.
But if you have to - remove the bonnet badge and this is the position to drill the mounting hole. make sure you have the correct leaper as this will need to have a spring mounting for safety.
good luck.
Very unlikely - the ''cats'' system was normally fitted to the top range type R or V8's I have never known a 3-0 with it fitted, To double check use your vin number on a spares site or jag dealer to ask what type of replacement shock is recommended. hope this helps
Under the hood is a nut under the leaper, with a small spring, remove this nut and you can remove the leaper from the outside of the hood., then to the inverse procedure to install the new leaper, but be sure to fit right the spring, it bring torsion to the leaper, otherwise the leaper wont stand firm and it will be moving to the sides.
please be careful this is a nice jam jar and must be looked after and polished every sunday ,its a JAGUAR ,well known for being used on a visit to the bank for a permanant withdrawal ,then a good hard drive to evade the ensuing ensamble that follows because the bank doesnt like it when a large withdrawal is made .No other car can do this quite as well as a nice tuned up jag .Anyway look under the bonnet two 6mm nuts hold the jaguar motiff on
In Europe, It was around 1975 that all risky, projecting objects, including the famous Jaguar 'leaping cat' bonnet mascot (US: 'hood ornament'), were banned from all vehicles sold in Europe because of the potentially deadly harm they could do to pedestrians. In the US, the company decided to eliminate it, I think it was 2007, now it is an option, you have to pay extra if you want it. Please see Newsweek article www.newsweek.com/id/154835
Without additional information, it sounds like the new heater valve is not connected electronically. Without voltage the valve will default into an open position, causing the heat to stay on. check electrical connection to valve, simply press on top of connector to ensure tight fit. if ok, check fuse.
Once its connected properly the valves will close automatically and will only allow hot water to flow to heater core when driver turns it on from climate control switch.
