To avoid getting it towed to the dealer (where they'd remove the rear seat to access the trunk),
you can get out your socket set/tool kit and remove the rear seat yourself and reach into the
trunk. If this car has fold-down rear seat(s) or bolster(s), simply fold them down and reach in.
Haynes manual (or online manuals) for this car aren't yet accessible, but a call to your Kia
dealership's service dept. may get a mechanic on the line who can give you a few good tips, or
pay a handy neighbor to figure out how to remove (and re-install) the rear seat to get access to
the trunk...

Where are the headlight fuses?

Mitch, No fuse for the headlamps. Controlled by the IPM,(Intelligent integrated Platform Module) fuse box under dash, has a built in smart circuit breaker that trips. It should reset if the key is cycled, but if the short is still there it will open again.
Check the attached links, last link shows IPM.

Locked my keys in the car but the trunk is open

if they do fold down reach in with a coathanger to reach the releases.. if not.. they bolt in and cant be removed from the trunk side as they were installed from the inside.. but a slim jim can open the car.. call law enforcement and they will come by and open it for you..especially if there is an issue like your child locked inside(or your dog)..

2004 Kia Optima LX gas door and trunk lid will not open using buttons on drivers sdie door?

Most vehicles that have a power release, also have a manual release. Check inside the vehicle, around the location of the outside filler door. You might have a removable panel, that will reveal the fuel door release cable.

My trunk is locked shut, cannot open it. key will not open. latch on side of front door will not open it. is there a way for me to open the trunk?

the only way to unlock the trunk without damage to the lock is to fold the back seat down or remove it if folding is not an option. crawl inside the trunk and pull the safety release handle. it is usually a glow in the dark t-handle hanging by a small cord. it is there in case someone is locked in the trunk and glow in the dark for when you dont have light to look for it. this will release the trunk latch so you can open the trunk and make repairs if necessary.

Trunk wont open and the back seat wont fold down on our kia optim

By switching the lever you locked the inside trunk release, you will need to put lever back. as far as the trunk you may need to remove the rear seat, pop lower part out and then remove the bolts to the top half of the seat then try to reach the lever so it will open from the inside. i've found that many of these cars with the pop lever inside have sticking trunk locks from not being used, what you do first is spary lock good, with wd40 or pb blaster then slide key in and out and try to turn this may take a whhile but it works then tumbler will free up, you just have to keep spraying inside lock and working the key.

I accidentally locked my keys inside of my trunk and I am on vacation. can I go to a local dealership provide proof of ownership and get a basic key made to open the trunk? I have a 2008 Kia Optima....

Tahe a metal hanger, straighten everything except the hook, stick the hook on the lock mechanism and pull hard and fast. If you go too slow the hanger will bend**to be more specific the locking mechanism is inside the child seat anchor, located behind the headrests in the back dash area on either side of the vehicle, pull the grey casing out of the backdash and if you look inside there's the latch, make a nice bend at the tip of the coat hanger and pull the metal latch pull, not the cable(i almost snapped mine :0 )ive done this with 100% accuracy on an 06' and 12' models but any model with upper trunk rear folding seat latches should be fine.

Trunk woill not close

Look at the latch and see if it's already in it's locked position. This will cause the trunk to not latch. Id so you must turn the key while puling open the c shaped clip.
