My 2007 cobalt SS has been having problems with the doors. When i drive it automatically locks the doors and when i stop and turn of the car it sounds like they unlock but they dont. They stay locked, I even try to unlock with the switch inside and nothing. I have had to open my windo and unlock with the Key. So once it locks with the switch it does not unlock unless with the key. And even my passenger side is not unlocking well with the key.

A nice simple answer, you can't. Think of it this way, the car doesn't know you are the owner, and it is there to stop exactly what you are trying to do. You have two computer ECM and BCM, plus the antitheft module and a number of sensors all trying to stop you. All you have to do is the re-learn procedure. Plan B is an auto electrician or alarm / radio installer or auto locksmith.

30 Minute Re-Learn Procedure

1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON (vehicle will not start).
3. Observe the SECURITY telltale, after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF.
4. Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds .

You likely have a defective door ajar switch causing this. To diagnose the issue you need a scanner.

Sounds like you are not getting the full throw of the slave cylinder. If you do not disengage the clutch completely it will shift hard, and sometimes you have to double clutch like you would an old truck. Have whoever put in your clutch bleed the clutch system again.

opening the door should always cause the car to chime at you so that shouldnt be a problem. as far as water goes it could have shorted out the lock/unlock button causeing a blown fuse, that would be my first guess.

does it happen at miscellaneous times, or is it at specific times, i.e., when you hit a certain speed, etc? If it's intermittent, then you may need to replace or clean the switch for the door locks. If it's at a certain speed, then most Chevrolet cars and trucks past about 1998 or so will have an automatic locking device that keeps kids from escaping while the car's in motion. They can be programmed to actuate at different times, so you may want to look at your owner's manual to see how to set yours, if you feel that it could be this.

Could be a problem in the shiftier. Your car doors lock automatically when you put the car in drive. They unlock when you put the car in park. The switch located in the shiftier can go bad causing the locks to randomly lock and unlock. Also, this can cause the key to get stuck in the ignition.

Try turning key two or three times in same direction.- in driver door.
