1993 ranger super 4x4 ac inop

I am getting no voltage to ac compressor when in on position, the internal light comes on, fuses are good, relay tests good, and the compressor will engage when i jump 12 volts directly to the terminals on compressor, but doesn't sound normal when doing so. The truck sat for a few years and hasn't had electrical going to ac since. could there be a pressure switch or something that would indicate the system is no longer properly charged, thus not allowing the current to flow to unit? It did work great prior to storing the truck.

    I guess I answered my question in my question, I jumped across the pressure switch on evaporator and ac started. I obviously leaked out refridgerant during storage, now to fix the leak, flush and recharge, keeping my fingers crossed in hopes this will solve my ac problems. I was a bit surprised though that there was no input from any readers here, thanks anyway ; Russeller

Have you charged the ac. If so check the low limit sw. on the dryer it will cut the power to the compressor if the charge is low or if the sw. fails.

SOURCE: A/C compressor clutch won't engage, system won't cool

Your system might be low on freon. Get a kit with a hose that has a gauge on it so you can see if you are in the "Good" range. The cycling switch won't close unless there is enough freon in the system. You can temorarily jumper the connector for the cycling switch to see if the compressor will come on. If it does, you are low on freon for sure. Do not let the compressor run for more than 15 - 30 seconds with it jumpered.

SOURCE: low voltage at fuel pump on 2005 new fuel pump no

Hello;
There is a fuel pump relay used on your truck. Check the wiring diagragm for the location. Then also trace the wiring back to make sure you do not have nicks, cuts, or abrasions on the wire leaking voltage.
Thanks;

SOURCE: have a 2000 Ford Ranger SuperCab, 4.0 4x4

I had a problem with my 2000 ranger when I bought it. Air was coming out of defroster vents. Check for a vacuum hose that may be off under the hood. It uses vacuum to open the vents.

SOURCE: My ac is not working on my 2000 mustang 3.8L. I'm

You were close! Most Fords have a CCRM (Continuous Control Relay Module) thats on the passenger side fenderwell. It has 4 relays: one for the AC compressor cluth, one for the fuel pump, and two for the electric fan (high- and low-speed.) The AC is the one that fails the most. You can replace the CCRM by removing the intake air filter box and working through the fenderwell openings. If it gets to difficult you must remove the wheel and splash cover to replace it from the wheel opening.

My 1999 Astro Van AC does not turn on. Good fuse, relay but gets no power to the switch into compressor. Can it be the heater/air condition control panel.

My first thought is, your low on refrigerant.
Checking fuses is good, also, use a test light and check voltage on fuse circuit. Some fuses are hot all the time. Some go hot with key on. I see three fuses involved and a/c enable relay.
Sometimes you can take electrical connector loose from compressor and use jumper wires from the battery for voltage and ground, just to see if compressor clutch will engage. The dark green wire is voltage, the black wire is ground.

04 navigator is blowing ac fuse 11, ac coil shorted, 3 different coils, can ac compress short the coils

How did you hook up the inline fuse to compressor and ground to compress ? Ground what ? Right at the clutch coil ? You have to be hooking it up wrong . The compressor can't cause the clutch coil to short or blow the fuse , even if the compressor were seized up . An before that would have the serpentine belt would burn up , squealing noise. applying B+ voltage in the relay socket ,pin 30 to pin 87 will engage the compressor clutch . If the fuse blows the wiring from the relay to the compressor clutch is shorted to ground . Look for rubbed through wiring harness .

98 ford ranger 4cyl 5 speed. When u turn the key to on position I get no warning lights on dash except battery light and seatbelt light. Nothing else.truck wont start. Dont even click.

Check the batter voltage first. If not that check fuse panel under hood for a 100 amp fuse check to see if the fuse is bad or if it has power. Also check fuseable link wire at starter to see if wire is still good. If it is bad, internal short possible on starter, take out and test it. Replace fusible link.

1993 Ford Escort Blower Motor & AC Switch

I'm going to start from the beginning.
The blower motor gets power from the high blower relay and it is grounded thru the fan switch and the resistor. So you should have power on the pink white blower wire coming from the high relay to the blower motor. The orange black wire from the motor is ground going to the resistor and fan switch. The blue wires on the control panel are for the ac compressor.
The high blower relay gets power from fuse number 5 in the box. The blower motor is grounded thru the resistor and then thru the fan switch.

Fuses 6-7-8-9 are powered from the ignition key switch.
Fuse 4 is powered from the RAP relay number 2 in the relay box.
RAP is for retained accessory power - its the relay that keeps power going to the radio and things after you turn the key off and before you open the door.

99 corolla passenger window wont roll up

Turn the ignition on but don't start the engine. Operate the windows from the master control switch. If none of the windows work, check the main fuse or breaker for the whole power window circuit. If only one of the windows is inoperative, go to Step 3.

  • 2 Check the main circuit relay using a test light. If voltage is coming out of the relay, there is an open or short at the wire feeding power to the other switches. If no voltage is coming out of the relay, use the test light to make sure voltage is reaching the relay. If voltage is reaching the relay, replace it. If there is no voltage reaching the relay, there is an open or short at the wire between the relay and the main fuse.
  • 3 Check the circuit fuse or breaker at the inoperative window. If the fuse or breaker is okay, go to the next step. If you can hear a humming sound as you press the switch but the window does not operate, either the motor is bad or its gearbox may have broken teeth. Go to Step 7.
  • 4 Turn the ignition on but don't start the engine. Using a multimeter, check the master control lockout switch for continuity. If there is no continuity, replace the lockout switch. With some vehicle models, problems at the lockout switch can cause both rear windows to fail.
  • 5 Try the switch at the inoperative window and check for continuity using a voltmeter. If there is no continuity, replace the switch.
  • 6 Check for voltage at the switch using a test light. If voltage is not reaching the switch, there is an open or short between the incoming wire and the fuse or breaker for that circuit power window.
  • 7 Take off the trim panel from the inoperative window. Check for voltage at the motor with a test light while pressing the switch. If there is no voltage, there is a short or open at the wire between the switch and the motor. If the circuit is equipped with a relay, test for voltage reaching and coming out the relay. Make sure the relay is working properly. If voltage is reaching the motor, go to the next step.
  • 8 Detach the window from the regulator and inspect the regulator mechanism by moving the window up and down by hand. Make sure nothing restrains the mechanism. Also, inspect the motor gearbox. Replace any parts as necessary.

    My problem is with the AC on my 91 Civic Wagon. It suddenly became inop after an engine change. Wiring seems to be good along with relays. My problem is there is no ground on the clutch relay to actuate...

    changing or swapping engine should have no effect on ac unit if you have everything plug back in correctly. I replace my engine also and plug everything back in with no problems. when you press the ac button does it light up? if not than you have no power to the switch and to clutch/compressor. take a meter tester to see if any power going to the compressor when the ac button is on position and also to the ac button. if not check your relay see if its good and test the plug where the relay plug in to see if any current flow though it. I suggest to pick up Chilton manual repair book from auto zone or pep boys for schematic.
