My 92 accord shift level moves but will not engage any gear

First check the trans fluid (if its not a sealed transmission). They wont shift in gear if they are to low. If that is fine, The shift solenoid has most likley gone bad.

It's possible, especially if the used trans sat unused for a while. When you change the filter, make sure that the trans has fresh, proper fluid.

You are not alone with this problem. I believe it may have something to do with the shift linkage, or even inside trany with synchros.
Is the shifter shifting ok in other gears, do you feel like you are pulling through mud to shift ?

The transmission should have a vacuum line going to it. It needs this vacuum to shift into the next gear. Try locating it and connect a vacuum line from the carb to the trans.

Car won't shift gears

It sounds like you have a bad transmission computer. The first thing you should do is have a shop try to scan the TCM for codes.

1999 honda odyssey shift hard first and secound gear

this is usaly a sing of waer on the transmission. cheak your tany oil for shiny particle or small papaer ones. any of that means your fritcion and metal clutch plates are going. and should be replaced.

Normaly this will only happen on cold starts, then it happen all the time, then it will be all gears after that, then you wont have 1 and 2 and slowly you wont have a working trany.

This is a must fix by a delar or trany shop. (trany shop will do it fast and cheeper but some times you wont get the warnenty
