1983 Ranger Water. Where else can water get in my oil besides the head or it's gasket? Both of mine are fine but water finds it's way back to the oil. I've changed the oil twice since I changed the head gasket. Would my intake or block be bad?

You have to pull it aprt again even though you changed the head gasket, did you plane your heads first, you might have an uneaven surface, but once you pull the heads off,try to check the cylinders with a bright light, check around the top of the cylinders it usally cracks there,a hairlane crack is all it takes, your probally going to have to pull the motor, and bring it to a machine shop, they can plane the block, and heads, and they can check it for cracks,if you have a cracked block they can put a sleeve in the cylinder thats cracked, but if I was you I would grab a junkyard motor and throw it in,I dont know what condition your truck is in but spending all that money on a 83 I would just grab junkyard motor

Why did 2004 ranger engine seize?

Water will make metal rust. Rust will seize a motor. You probably have a bad head gasket which leaked water into the oil passages or a cracked block.

My 1983 ford ranger 2.8 litre has oil in the water but no water in the oil

Check your oil cooler lines, they have possibly leaked into the radiator and got into the coolant. I would check the flanges of the cooler lines that go into the radiator. If you don't find a leak anywhere then your head gasket is blown and you'll eventually see water in your oil. A leak down test will confirm the status of your head gasket.

Besides a blown head gasket what else can cause water in the oil?

Cracked Heads, Cracked Block, missing chain guide for the timing belt lets it wear a hole in the cover which lets water mix in the oil. You are looking at tearing that engine down to find the problem.

On my 1983 Crown Vic, the water disappears and I'm not sure where its going. new water pump, thermostat, ran great for 6 months after these were installed. not leaking, radiator was flushed out, new oil...

There is a chance the water it' been burn by the car . It's posible that a internal leak between the Intake manifold gasket or the head gasket going thruogh the combustion chamber.
A good idea will be to perform a radiator pressure test to determine that, also you can have your sparkplugs inspected for signs of an abnormal condition, sometimes they can tell you a lot.

Coolant leaking into Oil

If you take your radiator cap off when your car is cool, then crank the engine, you can watch the water level. if the water sprays out immediately, it is most likely a gasket, either head gasket or intake. If the engine has to warm up a little before bubbles appear in the water or it begins to run over, then it will probably be a cracked head, as the crack would have to warm up and expand to allow the water to leak through. Let me know if this helps :)

Oil in coolant only

You might have a blown head gasket that is allowing one of your oil galleries in the engine to mix engine oil with the coolant after the oil pressure gets to a certain point. You might also have a cracked head causing the same type of problem.
