IGNITION COIL sometimes the problem, try replacement products which is way cheaper. also have you checked your sparkplugs? they are only good for 2yrs sometimes not. also check your distributor cap where the sparkplugs cables are connected, and make sure you put it back same place and position. clean and with piece of cloth maybe it is wet or rusty. always disconnect the negative of your battery cable when doing under the hood. fill up your car wd 8 0z of fuel injector cleaner 8 oz. and let yourcar run for few minutes to eliminate carbon deposits cause to clogging. you can pull it out too if you wanted and disconnect the 2 hose and clips before you try to pull out the injector and spray with injector cleaner and leave it for 8 hrs and rinse it wd the same cleaner. sounds a bit like a worn ignition key barrel. if the barrel wiggles by applying pressure to the key then its probably time to replace it. most barrels last about 90K miles, or about 10 - 15 years of use as a rough guide. but obviously some cars travel that distance in 2 years or less and will still be very good as far as a key barrel goes. you may need to dismantle it and have a look. you could always tap in a 12v supply from something else to the radio temporarily and see if the speedo stays good. may be fog lamp switch?
1) Put key on the ignition and don't move it. 2) Press down the odometer reset button, and dont let go. 3) Turn the ignition to the #2 position (past the radio detent) and wait like 15 seconds, until the service light goes off.
Could be the igniter inside the distributor (unless you have an external coil). Look on your distributor to see if there are 5 wires leading from it. If there are, you have an external coil that is likely bad... If you have only 4 wires coming from your distributor it is most likely the internal ignition inside the distributor ($50.+). AS SOON AS YOU GET IT STARTED CHANGE YOUR OIL. Your fuel pump has loaded your cylinders with fuel and it has probably leaked down into your oil pan making your oil thin and mixed with gas.
Hi
Try to jump start the car.
Put the jump leads on and leave it for 10 mins
that will charge the battery up
then try and start.
Also check the starter motor.
Should be covered under a recall. But they are very strict about the exact problem and I got swindled out of 500 bucks. The radio should be replaced as it will turn itself on and off - even the volume! Bit disconnect radio means you disconnect the panel, too.
