My AC was working fine earlier this week but yesterday afternoon I tried cooling off my car and the air was hotter with the AC than with the vent! I'm going to try the suggested repair and hopefully that'll work because a car in eastern NC without AC in August is not pleasant at all!

My air condition was working fine and when I turned my car on a few minutes later, it just stopped blowing air. I even tried the heater and it won't blow any air either

Check the clutch switch plug"two wires on the compressor under the hood" it might have come loose, if not start car and turn a/c on, see if clutch is spinning, if it is not look on coolant switch, see if the plug is secure on it"round silver looking canister that a/c lines go to"if everything else checks out then probably low on freon. go to wal-mart get DIY freon kit, charge it like the little gage tells you. make sure you hook it to the low pressure side, bigger freon lines, small lines are the high pressure. you may have to put a jumper wire on evaporator canister plug"on the silver canister i mentioned before, to get compressor to take freon charge

My air conditioner is not working on my 2005 Nissan quest se. what may be the problem? it was working fine yesterday. there is plenty of antifreeze

anti freeze has nothing to do with air conditioning
shaking at speed is , tires, wheel alignment, suspension parts or balance and again is not related to air conditioning
working one day and not the next suggest a leak in the ac system and now the low pressure switch is not allowing the compressor to work
So to cover your problems
take the car to an accredited auto ac specialist shop and have it checked for leaks and gas
then take it to an accredited suspension for a thorough check of the front end , then have a wheel alignment done

I have 2011 Nissan Sentra. Yesterday the a/c worked fine. Today it blows only hot air (compressor not engaging). I checked the freon, it's good. I'm lost.

If your fuses are all ok, there is a good chance the climate control unit has failed (the piece with all of the dials and buttons).

Controls for ac not working on 1998 buick century

see this steps and fix it. God bless you

Start the car and turn the air conditioning on. Allow the engine to run a few minutes so the air can cool. Check to make sure you have the proper buttons selected. This simple step may uncover the root of the problem.

  • 2 Adjust the air controls on the dashboard to see how they are working. If the controls move the way they should with the proper amount of resistance and stopping in the right places but have effect on the air, then the problem may as simple as a blown fuse. If the controls are not working at all, then the problem is in the control panel.
  • 3 Get to the fuse box in a Ford Explorer by removing the instrument panel to the left and slightly below the steering wheel. There is a fuse remover provided in the fuse box. A blown fuse will have a broken wire in it. In a Ford Explorer, this fuse is red number 10.
  • 4 Find the control panel by prying off the top instrument panel around the air conditioning temperature controls. Unscrew four screws, one in each corner, and remove the temperature control panel. Unplug four electrical connectors and one vacuum hose to the control panel.
  • 5 Listen for the blower motor to be properly working while the engine is running and the air conditioning controls are turned to high. Adjust them from low to high to make sure the blower motor noise increases and decrease accordingly.

Air conditioning stoppedworking. It has happened before but has always come back on. I don't know if it will this time

since you didn't say what stopped working, i'll assume you meant the cold air stopped coming. if this problem is intermittent, and that sometimes it works fine for as long as you need it, then start with the clutch on the compressor on the engine. those wires are small, and sometimes they break at the plug. if not that, the clutch could be giving you fits, either worn or bad. good luck.

sounds as if you may have an ac clutch freezing up on you. If it works fine while ac is off and frezes when on. bad clutch.

    Air conditioner failing

You need to refill the A/C. It works on pressure in the system if its below operating pressure it will not work at all. Buy a refill kit and follow instruction.

    Intermittent A/C Problem

    You have several possiblities:

Your condensor fan is not coming on. This is an easy check. Turn off the A/C. Have someone turn on the engine, then have them engage the A/C, while you watch/listen for the condensor fan to engage. If it does not come on, then you need to replace it (this is somewhat common). I would check this first.

You have a faulty A/C pressure sensor or A/C pressure sensor circuit.

You have a faulty air conditioning clutch coil (not energizing or engaging air conditioning clutch).

These could be aggrevated by warmer temps. Many circuits will function properly when cool, but not when hot.

A lesser possibility would be to check the tension of your drive belt (it turns the A/C). When warm it could be slipping.

    Regards,
    Brian

    1995 Lexus E300 Air Conditioning

Use on of those quick freon kits that come with the fill tube and gauge. It sounds like you have a slow leak and on a hot day there is enough pressure in the system to trip the switch. If thats not the problem check the wiring coming from the switch. The switch is probably near the filter/dryer. Thats the metal canister that sweats liquid on a hot day.
