The speedometer, tachometer, & cruise control stopped working. It now only has 2nd and drive in gears. The overdrive has stopped working the air heater for the diesel is not working, the wait to start light stopped working. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or knows where to begin to fix it at. I have replaced the speed sensors and checked for blown fuses & checked for loose wires.
The cruise control on y 1997 dodge cummins diesel 4x4 suddenly stopped working.I checked the fuses but they are ok.any solutions?
Try changing the speed sensor
DYNO-MITE
For the cruise control...Its a leak in a vacuum line, they mostly run along the firewall.Check em,bet you find a leak. Can also be the brake light switch on pedal. Also there are wires behind the drivers front headlight, check for damage. Most likely its a vacuum line leak,Ive had it a few times.
The vacuum pot is located under the battery on tje drivers side , this allows battery acid to drip down on it and ests a hole in the housing. You then lose vacuum to the cruise control. It is hell to get to. Good luck.
It could be the PCM it contains programming to control wait to start, speed inputs and out puts for proper shifting.

Not the exact same problem; only speedometer, odometer (obviously), & cruise control. Changing sensor at transmission did not help. No apparent blown fuses. HELP ! ! !
