Hello, Can you hear the motor run in the seat back? If you can hear it run, you could have a broken track. They are made out of nylon so they do break. If you can't hear a motor run, you probably have a bad seat switch. Can you pull the headrest up with your hands? If so, try pushing it down because it may have come out of it's lock.
If you want to inspect the mechanism, take the two screws out of the bottom of the seat back, and pull down. You should be able to see if the track is broken.
I hope this helps.

1983 mercedes 300d turbo diesel automatic electrical problem

There is a junction block about 6 inches in front of the battery on the fender, there should be battery voltage on the big wires. The small wire is the starter solenoid. Front the junction block, the power goes to the light switch then to the ignition switch.

Does anyone know where I can find a transmission for my 87 Mercedez 300D Turbo? Jeff at [email protected]

I would check www.car-part.com. You enter the year, make and model, part, and your zip code and they will direct you to salvage yards in your area that may have one available.
