My Ford Escape 2003 first started having the airbag light go on and off intermittently (about a year ago). Then occasionally all the dashboard dials would max out, zero out then return to normal (about a month ago). Then it started to feel like occasionally the transmission was slipping or at least there was a jolting while driving. Tonight, there was a sudden jolt while driving about 55 and the THEFT light flashed then everything returned to normal. We checked the battery and it reads 12.6 while off and about 14.8 while running. I had a new alternator put in about 1.5 years ago. There are 165,000 miles on the car. Thanks for the help.

I kinda think there is a ground problem that is losing connection over and over. Had the same problem but not as long as yours, mine was around 4 months, of course i had to take it in and did a computer analysis,AS i don't have one, found nothing. But one day it jolted and died, I found a little ground wire behind the motor against the firewall that freyed and finally broke off at the connector. Don't know exactly what it grounded but after a new connector and clean surface shazaam runs and have never had that issue again so far.

Ford Escape Airbag Light when its cold outside

When the airbag light is on it means the system is effectively switched off.

A code read should provide a clue to the problem, though for best results the code reader might have to be used while the light is on.

2003 escape my airbag light stays on its been this way since i bought the truck in 2007 how mush is it gonna be for the dealer to fix it

Depends on the airbag code, can be anything from the clockspring assy, the seatbelt pretensioner to an airbag or module fault. Best bet is find out the code and reask the question.

Usually due to a poor connection in the YELLOW PLASTIC CONNECTOR underneath the passenger seat.

Just push it together properly and it should clear the AirBag Light

Intermittent flashing of all dashboard lights

Weird, sounds like your battery connections are possibly loose, but
the car wouldn't start properly, or at all, if this was the case. You might just have a loose connection to the dashboard controls?
If you are up to the task, I'd remove the guage console,if you can,and make sure all the connections are tight. Good luck.
