I have the same exact car and when I had to replace my battery I had to reset radio code also. Fortunately, I have the code card, but I didn't know that at first and I typed in a random code, and then it kind of "froze" it saying Searching for code or something to that sort. I called a Jag 800 number (any Jag 800 should be fine) and they told me the steps and my code, you will probably need a VIN #.

You will need the code in the Porsche user manual packet. There is a card called the Radio Code Card inside a window on the inside of the cover flap. Using the numbered keys along the bottom of the stereo screen, enter those four digits. If you get it wrong, it prompts you for the code again. If you get it wrong three times, you have to wait an hour before trying again.
If you don't have the code from the manual, I would suggest contacting your nearest dealer about resetting the code.
Unless you have the 4 digit security code, you'll have to try to get it from the dealer. Once you have this code, you enter it by using the first 4 preset buttons. Each preset button applies to a number to the code (the first button is the first nuber, the second button is the second number, and so on). Cycle each button until the correct number appears. Once the code is entered, push the tape (or cd) button. You should hear a beep if the correct code is entered. If it is entered incorrectly 3 times, it will have to be left on for an hour before trying again. I believe when the vehicle was bought from the dealer, they gave out what they called a customer security card that has the code.
You need to take VIN # to dealer to get the radio code. It's a theft deterrent and they're all different. While there also get the correct way to enter the code, they're very specific to code entry.
2 possibile fixes - #1) you should have code/code car in owners manual. #2) if you don't have manual w/code, then call dealer and provide VIN# and they'll get you code.
Greetings from Maryland. I have had issue with codes before myself, and it appears that ONLY dealers can provide proper coding, usually for free. Once they unlock and engage the radio for you they will give you a copy of the code for your use later. The odds are the NYC dealer provided a bad digit.
Look in your owners manual usually there is a little card that has the
code in there or in the booklet. Otherwise you will have to go to the
dealer for the code.
well of corse its a VW the really only want the official radio that cam with the car.. you have to talk to a dealer and its a universal code they have them
i had this problem when i bought my mdx second hand. i called the acura dealer and they gave me a code. you will need ur serial numbers off the sticker on the top of the radio.keep it safe cause when ever u dissconnect your batt it is gonna do it all over again!
look in your glovebox and see if you have one of these cards. they come with every new mitsubishi.
if not you'll need to pull out the radio and take it to the service department at your local mitsubishi dealership. they will enter the serial number off the sticker on radio into their computer and give you the unlock code.
Had the same problem. Found the correct code but radio will not power up and say "code" so I can re-code it.
