Rear power windows not working - 1999 Chrysler Town & Country

BCM is bad or has no power.

The following components are used to control the power windows:
• Driver door module (DDM)
• Passenger front door module (PDM)
• LH rear door module (LRDM)
• RH rear door module (RRDM)
• Driver door switch assembly (DDSA)
• RH front power window switch
• LH rear power window switch
• RH rear power window switch
• LH front power window motor
• RH front power window motor
• LH rear power window motor
• RH rear power window motor
• Class 2 serial data link
• DR MOD PWR C/B 30 Amp circuit breaker
• DRIVER DR MOD 10 Amp fuse -- DDSA and DDM logic, DDM internal driver operation.
• PSGR DR MOD 10 Amp fuse -- PDM logic and internal driver operation.
• REAR DR MOD 15 Amp fuse -- LRDM and RRDM logic and internal driver operation

Did the switch work before replaced battery ? 2008 CTS ? Cadillac ? These switches are inputs to a control module , DDM - driver door module . a computer of sorts . A lot of thing's can go wrong with these systems , broken power or ground circuits inside the rubber boot from the body to the driver door . Communication problems between control modules etc... Plus the power windows don't use fuse's , has a circuit breaker for front windows - PWR/WNDW circuit breaker 25 amp located in the fuse box under the back seat , Fuse's are used for rear windows - two 15 amp fuse's LT/REAR an rear ,both are in the rear fuse box under back seat. These rear windows are controlled by the BCM - body control module .

The power windows system consists of the following components:
• Driver door module (DDM)--GMLAN device that receives and transmits messages and signals for window functionality. The DDM contains the driver door switch (DDS) which is integrated into the module. The DDS contains the driver, front passenger, RR and LR window and window lockout switches.
• Passenger front door module (PDM)--GMLAN device that receives and transmits messages and signals for window functionality. The PDM contains the front passenger door switch (PDS) which is integrated into the PDM. The PDS contains the front passenger window switch.
• Left rear power window switch--Provides switched voltage and ground window switch signals to the left rear window motor for left rear passenger window operation
• Right rear power window switch--Provides switched voltage and ground window switch signals to the right rear window motor for right passenger window operation
• Left front power window motor--Contains position sensors and a module that receives signals from the DDM and provides a status signal to the DDM
• Right front power window motor--Contains position sensors and a module that receives signals from the PDM and provides a status signal to the PDM
• Left rear power window motor--Contains position sensors and a module that receives signals from the left rear power window switch
• Right rear power window motor--Contains position sensors and a module that receives signals from the right rear power window switch
• DRIVER DR MOD fuse (15-amp)
• PDM fuse (15-amp)
• PWR WNDW Circuit Breaker (25-amp) -- front
• LT/REAR/WNDW fuse (15-amp) -- rear
• REAR/WNDW fuse (15-amp) -- rear


Power Window Operation
The driver and front passenger doors are equipped with power window motors that contains its own module. Each power window motor receives a hot at all times battery supply voltage and constant ground source. When the right front passenger window switch on the DDS is activated to the up or down position, the DDM will interpret the signal and send a GMLAN serial data message to the PDM. Upon receipt of the message, the PDM will send a signal to the front passenger window motor module on the GMLIN serial data circuit. The window motor module will then supply battery voltage and ground to the window motor to drive the window motor to the up or down position.
The DDM communicates via the GMLAN serial data circuit with the body control module (BCM) to control the rear window functions from the driver master window switch. The BCM is hard wired to each rear power window switch with circuits for window up, window down, and an enable circuit. The rear window switches contain internal logic that when supplied with voltage from the BCM over the enable circuit will driver the appropriate window in the direction commanded.
The rear power window switches are supplied with battery voltage from individual right and left WNDW fuses located in the rear fuse block. When a rear power window switch is activated to the DOWN position, voltage is applied to the motor down circuit and the motor up circuit serves as the path to ground. The window motor will drive in the downward direction until the switch is released or the window has fully opened. When the window switch is activated to the UP position, voltage is applied to the motor up circuit and the motor down circuit serves as the path to ground. Ground for the left rear power window switch is supplied at G200 and the right rear power window switch receives ground at G201.

The power locks work the same .

After replacing the driver door switch (DDS) or passenger door switch (PDS), perform the programing procedure.

If you don't know any of what i posted your best bet , have a qualified repair shop check it out .

It's not the BCM ,more then likely it's that windows switch .

MAIN POWER WINDOW AND DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK SWITCH OPERATION WINDOW UP When the main power window and door lock/unlock switch (rear LH) is pressed in the up position Power is supplied ? through main power window and door lock/unlock switch terminal 3 ? to rear power window switch LH terminal 3 ? through rear power window switch LH terminal 4 ? to rear power window motor LH terminal 2. Ground is supplied ? through main power window and door lock/unlock switch terminal 1 ? to rear power window switch LH terminal 2 ? through rear power window switch LH terminal 5 ? to rear power window motor LH terminal 1. Then, the motor raises the window until the switch is released. When the main power window and door lock/unlock switch (rear RH) is pressed in the up position Power is supplied ? through main power window and door lock/unlock switch terminal 5 ? to rear power window switch RH terminal 3 ? through rear power window switch RH terminal 4 ? to rear power window motor RH terminal 2. Ground is supplied ? through main power window and door lock/unlock switch terminal 7 ? to rear power window motor RH terminal 2 ? through rear power window switch RH terminal 5 ? to rear power window switch RH terminal 1. Then, the motor raises the window until the switch is released. WINDOW DOWN When the main power window and door lock/unlock switch (rear LH) is pressed in the down position Power is supplied ? through main power window and door lock/unlock switch terminal 1 ? to rear power window switch LH terminal 2 ? through rear power window switch LH terminal 5 ? to rear power window motor LH terminal 1. Ground is supplied ? to main power window and door lock/unlock switch terminal 3 ? through rear power window switch LH terminal 4 ? through rear power window switch LH terminal 3 ? to rear power window motor LH terminal 1. Then, the motor raises the window until the switch is released

Look at the body control module.

• The power rear window is inoperative (Explorer Sport Trac only)

• Circuitry.
• Battery Junction Box (BJB) fuse 3 (30A).
• Central Junction Box (CJB) fuse 20 (7.5A).
• Power rear window control switch.
• Rear window glass motor.

NOTE: The power rear window motor is not on the multiplex link. Any diagnosis and testing carried out on the power rear window will not involve the GEM module. NOTE: The reinitialization procedure must be carried out when repairs are performed on any part of the power rear window system including when the power rear window motor is removed from the window regulator drum housing, a new power rear motor is installed, a new power rear window regulator is installed, a new power rear window module is installed, and any operation in which grease or lubricants are applied to the power rear window system.

Rear Window Motor Initialization CAUTION: Make sure that no obstructions are present in the power rear window system when carrying out this procedure.
NOTE: This procedure must be carried out when repairs are performed on any part of the power rear window system including when: the power rear window motor is removed from the window regulator drum housing, a new power rear motor is installed, a new power rear window regulator is installed, a new power rear window module is installed, and any operation in which grease or lubricants are applied to the power rear window system.
NOTE: All power rear window components (window glass module, window regulator, window motor, and glass runs) must be installed and torqued to specification before carrying out this procedure.
NOTE: Steps 1-6 must be completed within 30 seconds. The entire procedure must be completed within five minutes.
NOTE: Once the ignition key is turned to the ON position in Step 6, it must remain on until the entire procedure is completed.
NOTE: Steps 7 and 9 require that the power rear window control switch be held in the closed position until the power rear window motor stalls the window in the upper header seal. Step 8 requires that the window control switch be momentarily turned to the open position.

1. Start with the ignition in the OFF position.

1. Turn the ignition to the ON position.

1. Press the power rear window control switch vent button six times.

1. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.

1. Press the power rear window control switch vent button six times.

1. Turn the ignition to the ON position. The power rear window will move up-down-up-down approximately 20 mm (0.8 in). This movement indicates that the power rear window motor has entered initialized mode.

1. Rotate and hold the power rear window control switch to the closed position until the window stalls in the upper header seal.

1. Momentarily rotate the power rear window control switch to the open position and release. The power rear window will carry out a one-touch down operation until the window stalls at the bottom of the travel stop designed into the window regulator.

1. Rotate and hold the power rear window control switch to the closed position until the window stalls into the upper header seal. Once this operation is complete, the window will move up-down-up-down approximately 20 mm (0.8 in). This movement indicates that the power rear window motor has been successfully initialized.

1. Verify correct operation of the power rear window by moving the window to the fully open, vent, then fully closed positions

I had the same problem with now power to windows, mirrors and seat. The common soulution is the orange and or black wire in the boot have broken between the door and post.
