Bank 2 is passenger side. Sensor 1 is the upstream oxygen sensor in front of the catalytic converter and sensor 2 would be downstream under the vehicle
This code is for your oxygen sensor. It is what is called Bank 2 sensor one. Which is the sensor on the left side behind the left side catalytic convertor
DESCRIPTION
The Oxygen Sensors (O2S) are attached to, and protrude into the vehicle exhaust system. Depending on the engine or emission package, the vehicle may use a total of either 2 or 4 sensors.
On this emissions package, 4 sensors are used: 2 upstream (referred to as 1/1 and 2/1) and 2 downstream (referred to as 1/2 and 2/2). With this emission package, the right upstream sensor (2/1) is located in the right exhaust downpipe just before the mini-catalytic convertor. The left upstream sensor (1/1) is located in the left exhaust downpipe just before the mini-catalytic convertor. The right downstream sensor (2/2) is located in the right exhaust downpipe just after the mini-catalytic convertor, and before the main catalytic convertor. The left downstream sensor (1/2) is located in the left exhaust downpipe just after the mini-catalytic convertor, and before the main catalytic convertor.
Left and right are distinguished by sitting in the vehicle, not looking at the vehicle from the front
bank 1 sensor 1 is driver side exhaust pipe in front of catalyticconverter, bank 1 sensor 2 is drivers side exhaust pipe behind catalyticconverter, bank 2 sensor 1 is passenger side exhaust pipe in front of catalyticconverter, bank 2 sensor 2 is passenger side exhaust pipe behindcatalyticconverter.
The location is as follows:---
The system is setup almost like you would expect: Bank 1 Sensor 1 - Driver's side, before catalytic converter Bank 1 Sensor 2 - Driver's side, after catalytic converter Bank 2 Sensor 1 - Passenger side, before catalytic converter Bank 2 Sensor 2 - Passenger side, after catalytic converter---------thanks.Helpmech.
A code P0155 may mean that one or more of the following has happened: * O2 Heater element resistance is high * Internal short or open in the heater element * O2 heater circuit wiring high resistance * open or short to ground in the wiring harness
Possible Solutions: * Repair short or open or high resistance in wiring harness or harness connectors * Replace oxygen sensor (cannot repair open or short that occurs internally to sensor)
Oxygen sensors are always numbered like this:
Bank 1 sensor 1
Bank 2 sensor 1
Bank 1 sensor 2
Bank 2 sensor 2
Some manufacturers use a kind of shorthand that reads different, but means the same thing:
Sensor 1/1 or O2s 1/1
Sensor 2/1 or O2s 2/1
Sensor 1/2 or O2s 1/2
Sensor 2/2 or O2s 2/2
Bank 1 is always the side of the engine where cylinder number 1 is located and, of coarse, Bank 2 is the opposite side.
On a 4 cylinder engine, there is only 1 bank and it is always referred to as Bank 1.
Sensor 1 is always the upstream sensor (The one located BEFORE the catalytic converter)
Sensor 2 is always the downstream sensor (the one that is located AFTER the catalytic converter.
Hi, There are 4 sensors, 2 pre catalytic converter, 2 post. The driver side is bank 1, and the passenger side is bank 2 .The foreward one in the pipe coming from the driver side is bank1 sensor 1, the rear sensor for the driver side is bank 1 sensor 2 . The other side would be the same, but bank 2. Good luck...
Need more information but here is where all your O2 sensors are located
Bank 1 Sensor 1 - Driver's side, before catalytic converterBank 1 Sensor 2 - Driver's side, after catalytic converter Bank 2 Sensor 1 - Passenger side, before catalytic converter Bank 2 Sensor 2 - Passenger side, after catalytic converter Thank you for using fixya and good luck
