The entire gauge cluster lights always lit up when I first bought my 2007 Camry while the car is running. Just this week my husband noticed that at night when we turn on the headlights, the entire gauge cluster lights go off and we can't see anything on the display. Do you know what may be wrong with it and how we can get it fixed?

You should have a dimmer switch that increases or decreases the amount of light that the dash produces. This should be located to the right of the steering wheel. It is a wheel that goes up or down. I believe on your model you can slide the switch all the way up, and you will feel a click, and that should be the brightest setting.

did you check fuse yet.
did you scan the PCM yet,
if RPM i ok in the PCM scan its, then it's OK.
no DTCs stored? any sensors on engine..
also the right scan tool can do the full TOY extended DTC check
for other DTCs, like "BCM/PCM cant talk to CLUSTER HEAD?)"
If it is a warning light shaped like a door key, it could be the warning light for the security system. Its telling you there is a problem with the chip in your key or the sensor in the lock cylinder. Your owner's manual should show all of the warning lights and what they mean.
it wont go away because their is a mechanical problem and or problem with oil change [ not enough oil wrong filter etc ] will need to have vehicle scanned for the fault code to determine the problem most auto stores offer this service for free
{: ) I supposed you have checked the fuses at the IP fuseblock and tried adjusting the dimmer knobs back and forth. You can also try to check the cluster connector behind ( although not likely to be the cause). If the illuminations or backlighting works fine on other areas except the cluster, and gauges functions are fine, you will need to replace IPC (cluster) and program. Actually there is a GM bulletin for this kind of concern for the 2007 IPC poor backlighting. The IPC should be replaced with a 2008 hardware/software.
When you disconnected the battery you set a code in the airbag diagnostic module (loss of system voltage), you will have ot manually clear the code out to turn out the light.
The light behind myRemove the cluster bezel from the instrument panel. See Cluster Bezel in this group for the procedures. Remove the four screws that secure the instrument cluster to the instrument panel Instrument Cluster Remove/Install Pull the instrument cluster rearward to disengage the two self-docking wire harness connectors NOTE: The instrument cluster has two self-docking wire harness connectors that will be automatically aligned with, and connected to the instrument panel wire harness when the cluster is installed in the instrument panel. Remove the instrument cluster from the vehicle. Reverse the removal procedures to install. Tighten the mounting screws to 2.2 N·m (20 in. lbs.) when I turn my headlights on. All the other gauges are lit, but not the gas gauge. How do I get in there to replace the bulb and fix this? Or is it a fuse problem? I have a 1998 jeep scout Thanks
