SOURCE: real right turn signal light - Pontiac Montana SV6 2005

If the 2005 Montana is similar to the 2001 Montana, I have a solution. First you'll need a hexagonal wrench (the 6-sided L-shaped wrench). The tail light assembly is held on by two screws. You'll need the hexagonal wrench to remove them, because a normal screwdriver won't do it. I also had to use a conventional adjustable wrench to get the leverage to turn the hexagonal wrench, because the screws were in there pretty tight. Once you remove the two screws, the whole tail light assembly should come off. Mine required a little force and I had to play with it a bit, but it came off without a lot of work. There will be one set of wires that connects the tail light assembly to the rest of the minivan--try not to damage that set of wires. Once you get the tail light assembly off, you'll have to take apart the assembly that actually holds the lights. No tools should be required. It's held on by four plastic catches. Just undo the catches (easier said than done, but still not too tough) and it comes apart. Then you can pop out the old light and pop in the new light. Then re-assemble. For me, it went back together much easier than it came apart.

SOURCE: 2005 Pontiac SV6 Montana key fob unlocks doors but will not lock

For the sliding doors you need to clean the contacts, there are 6 or 8 on both sides, just wipe them clean as they are probably covered in oil/grease/grime.

SOURCE: steps for replacing wiper motor for 1998 VW Jetta

remove wipers. remove plastic covering by loosening plastic screws first. unplug wiper motor wires. there are about three 10mm nuts at the motor location and you also have to unscrew the big nuts that were below the wipers when you unscrewed them. replacement is reversal.

How do I fix or replace the rear wiper motor

Hello,

  1. Disconnect the cable running to the negative terminal on the car's battery. To do this, loosen the nut on the cable clamp until the clamp is loose enough for you to slide the cable clamp off the negative battery terminal.
  2. Pull the wiper arm away from the rear windshield until the wiper arm locks into a vertical or semi-vertical position or is perpendicular to the rear windshield.
  3. Remove the nut holding the wiper arm assembly to the rear wiper motor.
  4. Pull the wiper arm off the wiper motor assembly.
  5. Unplug the rear wiper motor plug/harness.
  6. Remove the screws holding the rear wiper motor to the inside of the vehicle at the base of the rear window.
  7. Pull the rear wiper motor off.
  8. Install the new wiper motor and put the wiper motor and arm assembly back on the vehicle by reversing the completed steps.

Rear wiper just stop in the middle. It looks as if the motor has no power.

It will surely be the rear wiper motor that failed. The hatch panels can be removed, lift the hatch. You'll find a torx screw where the pull handle is, remove. Pull down the lower portion of the panel, the upper is also held on by push clips, just pull it away. Lower hatch, remove wiper arm cap, and nut holding wiper arm on. take off the large nut off at the base of the wiper shaft. raise hatch, remove elctrical connector, and 3 10mm bolts holding wiper motor and bracket. Replaced and reverse procedure.

2004 Pontiac Montana. The wipers start but then stop after moving just a little and then go back down. They do not come up all the way.

Hello Sebpgood.

O yes, the notorious GM van wiper problem.
The clutch mechanism on the wiper motors are difficult to say the least.
The spline on the shaft from the wiper motor may have slipped putting the wiper motor to wiper transmission out of synchronization.
These are tricky to get back in time.
Also there is a tab on the crank arm designed to catch the clutch that wears and/or bends down and will not allow proper operation.
Most of the time I replace the crank arm assembly as they are prone to wear.
Check all the parts on the wiper transmission for siezed pivots and bent arms.
I hope this helps you towards a repair.
Thank you for using FixYa.

Are the rear wipers and rear washers wired together? On a 2006 Pontiac Montana.. My wiper doesnt work but washer does..

I would check fuse, make sure it is good. I would pull panel and make sure you are getting 12 volts to motor, if you are it could be a bad motor, I would find out what one costs from your auto parts store, then call a reliable auto center, and get a repair quote from them, Please let me know what you find.

2000 Pontiac Montana with a wiper problem

Check the crank arm on the wiper motor. There is a bracket under the crank arm that has a small upward part on it that the bottom of the crank arm is supposed to stop on when its shut off.

Put the wiper in the pulse position and turn the key on. let the wipers sweep one time then turn off the key.

Look under the crank arm to see where it stopped. It should be no farther than 5 mm from the bracket stop. The stop is often times bent or worn out. You will need to replace the crank arm and the bracket in most cases.
