Speedometer and tac gauge does not work. I've checked all of the connections, replaced both censors and all of the fuses. What did I miss? Due to it not working, the transmission isn't reading it and it won't shift properly.

It is possible for the Speedometer and Tac gauge not to work but will not affect the way the transmission works. If the problem is in the interment cluster the transmission can still receive the input from the speed sensor. Does the check engine light come on? If the transmission isn't receiving the signal the check engine light will come on and set code. If the check engine light isn't coming on or doesn't set code for speed sensor signal you problem is more likely to be in the interment cluster. The RPM would be the same.

Taillight keep blowing fuses, been through 15 today.what could be the problem because the fuse runs the battery gauge, oil pressure gauge, temp.gauge ,tac, and speedometer. Help me please!!!!!??????

What make , model an year vehicle ? Electrical shorts cause fuse's to blow . Do you know how to read a wiring diagram ? How to use a DVOM - digital volt ohmmeter to test electrical circuits ? If not ,your best bet would be to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop.

Speedometer stopped working, can/t find where it connects to the transmission due to skid plate. not sure if it needs to be removed before replacement of cable. Also tachometer and fuel gauge are not...

Definitely sounds like a fuse issue. look at the owners manual under fuses. find the location of the one marked "fuel gauge" and check. Usually there are more then one circuit included for the fuse, which may be the other circuits that are not working. If there was recent work done, there may be a loose connection on a terminal going to the distributor.

RPM and speed oidmeter gauge not working?

This is due to a problem with the gears in the speedometer and RPM gauge; there was a manufacturing defect that ford fixed in later years. The cheapest solution is to replace these gauges. I found a local mechanic that knew how to fix it, and did the job for $60. I recommend checking craigslist for a local person, because this is a very common problem. I've also had problems with the fuel gauge, so be aware of any problems with it as well.

The odometer, fuel gage and tac do not work on my 2004 gmc 3500. oil and others OK

your cluster gauge is broken or has a loose connection. if your gauges sometimes work and sometimes dont then it is a loose connection. and if they dont work at all then it is broken. i would also check fuses and electrical supply to gauges. if you dont find any errors or bad grounds then i recommend taking the cluster gauge out and replacing it.

Was driving down the road and the tac started jumping then dropped to zero then the speedometer dropped aswell got freaked and parked it but neither gauge is working at the moment and i am not sure whats...

The two gauges work off two different sensors. The tac runs off the crank sensor. the speedometer runs off the speed sensor. Since your car still runs..ie the crank sensor is still good. I would guess that your Instrument panel has shorted. This is just a guess because there are other factors, like wiring that would have to be checked. It is still safe to drive, just watch how fast you are going compared to traffic.

Tac dont work. tranmissionwant shift unless you let off of gas

The connector on the back of the gauge cluster isn't making a good connection. If the speed senser is bad the speedometer won't work either or the fuse the speedometer won't work but if the speedometer does work the trans controller or the shift switch ( park neuurtal drive ) could bemaking abad connection or be full of tans fluild or water (frozen?) The tach not working may indicate a fuse or connection problem to the cluster ( speedometer gauge unit and the computer doesn't know how fast the motor is going) The check engine light should be on in this case and checking for codes and following the repair recomedations for them should find the problem

The speedometer, odometer, and tac are not working. It has been determined it is not a sensor. All are working behind the scenes but not on the surface. What could possibly be the problem?

i have seen and replaced may accord 94-97 gauge clusters for problems like this. most common is the odometer stops working or works erratically. you should check ebay for a gauge cluster
