This just started happening to my Jag S Type 2000 V6. Is it old coolant, does it need to be flushed? Any recommendations?

Temprature gage never indicates overheating but the fan will continue to run after engin has been turned off.

Jag x type auto gearbox 05 reg wont go in gear til hot

Hi, are you able to drive the vehicle until it gets hot, or do you sit there and wait for the engine temp' to come up to the hot setting before you can select gear ? I suggest a Jag technician or auto sparky scan the computor for DTC's, or diagnostic trouble codes, they will enable a speedy resolution to your problem.

2000 NISSAN 4X4 P/U A/C SYSTEM WILL BLOW COLD WHEN OUTSIDE AIR TEMP IS COOL, WHEN HOT OUTSIDE AIR BLOWS HOT.

your auxillary fan is not working. this fan is responsible for cooling the freon that is being circulated in your cooling system... check if there are any loose wires in front of the engine bay.

the auxillary fan is located right beside your radiator fan.

Sounds like the fan is not coming on when engine is geting hot.
Easiest way to check for fan operation is to drive car around the block to get engine warm--then park car and let it idle, open the hood, locate the fan and keep a visal eye on it ---and when the engine temperature comes up the fan should come on.You should be able to hear it too.If that's working, then its possible may have a partially plugged radiator or even a partilly opening engine thermostat,

I've had problems with Datsun (later Nissan) engines hanging the closed thermostat until it boiled, then the thermostat released and operated normally. If you increase the small vent hole in the thermostat valve plate a small amount, the problem disappears. It seems that steam from engine operation gathers behind the thermostat sensing bulb and delays opening. The increase in vent hole size lets the steam through and allows the hot water to open the valve. Hope this helps!
