Peugeot 306 hdi altenator belt i am looking for a diagram off how to put it back on but cant find one its got air con on it

start by removing all plastic covers,wheel,inner fender lining,serpentine belt and tensioner and the headlight to gane access

it is a 19mm bolt on the side of the gearbox it takes ep 75 90 gear oil if it helps

it sounds like the catalytic convertor is blocked

just in front of the altenator, there is a 10mm bolt, tighten that and it will tighten the fan belt .
these belts are quite tight, make sure the one you have is the correct length, sometimes the suppliers will send one that is close to the correct size, and is sometimes a few milimeters smaller.

You dont normally have to loosen anything else, but the easiest way is to put the belt on the alternator, tensioner and power steering first, then ease the belt over the ridge of the crankshaft last, one rib at a time, but evenly all the way around the pulley.

need engine size, also does it have power steering and/or air con?

Thes have a weak point with the pump in the tank. It is under a cap under the rear seat, get someone to turn the ignition on and listen if no noise give it a tap and see if it whirrs, slacken a pipe on the filter and see if there is pressure, if not the pumps are available from factors or on line.
