1984 Chrysler new Yorker 2.6l wont start. Replaced the fuel filter, new spark plugs and wires, new fuel shut off switch, new relay delay fuse, and a new ignition coil, oh yeah and a new starter. Ever hear...

Here's a quote from amy Chilton's manual for 1980-1987.

"Several types of fuel filters are used. One is located in the fuel tank of all the vehicles and is part of the fuel guage assembly. Second is a sealed paper element, in-line unit; mechanical system- located on the engine (above the fuel pump) or electrical system- located in front of the fuel tank. Third is a paper element, in-line fuel filter/vapor separator, housed in a fuel resevoir. Normally, the in-tank filter does not require changing. If it does, the fuel tank must be removed. "
This thing you describe sounds like the typical Chrysler in-line filter of its day. It is nothing more than the same generic in-line plastic see-thru filter you buy for your lawn mower except in the 70's and 80's it was covered in metal and had a Chrysler part number. A lot of guys added an extra filter in those days, it wasn't the best system. I would remove the outlet line and turn the fuel pump on, see if you get fuel. Replace if needed.

My 1990 F-150 4.9 6cld has 191000 miles, new fuel pump, new plugs, new coil, drained and cleanded gas tank. When in idle below 1000 rpm doesnt miss any. try incresse rpm acts and sounds like all 6 cyl r...

check the connection of all of the spark plug wires to the plugs, you may have put a wrong one on, when cleaning the gas tank as well it can dislodge a lot of dirt, cleaning injectors and a new fuel filter could solve the issue as well

My 1998 chevy z71 truck will turn over but will not start

If the truck turns over, but will not start. The most common problem is the fuel pump. When you turn the key to the ON position, you should hear the fuel pump run for about 2 seconds. You may have to open the gas cap to hear it. If you can't hear it with the gas cap off, then that is going to be your problem. They are in the top of the fuel tank. And they are not real easy to change. You either have to drop the fuel tank or take the bed off. I personally take the bed off. It is a lot easier if you have a couple of people to help you. Dropping the tank is no fun at all. Plus it makes getting the ring that holds the fuel pump in a lot more difficult to get off.

1995 blazer was running rough, now not starting

if you believe some one put water or bad gas in your tank, then you will have to drain the tank. however, to know if you have water in your gas, first disconnect fuel return line or the line that goes in to the fuel pressure regulator put some fuel in a clear glass and let it sit for 15min.if you see white cloud at the bottom of the glass or water. drain the tank. if not check for spark by removing one spark plug wire and spark plug. place the spark plug in the spark plug wire boot and touch it on the metal part of the car. do not touch the spark plug itself only the booth with the plug in the boot. have some one crank the car over. if you see spark, the spark part is ok. but if no spark, check the coil with a volt meter it should be 3 to 8 ohm if not replace the coil. if ok, check for fuel by removing one spark plug or two and see if they are wet,if wet pump is ok. if not check the fuel pump relay and fuse. if fuse is blown replace. check relay with a volt meter. resistance of the relay should be between 40 to 80 ohm. not mega ohm,if mega ohm, replace. if not , listen to the fuel pump while some one is cranking the car. if you donot hear the pump, disconnect the pump electrical connector and applive 12 volt and ground to the pump by using a jumper or any wire and listen for pump sound. if not replace the pump. if there is sound coming from the pump, it is ok. check the fuel pressure regulator with a fuel pressure gauge or simply disconnect the vaccum from the regulator and try starting the car. if fuel pump is ok and spark is ok. then it maybe the computer or the crank position signal. also check the fuel filter it may be clog.

1989 ford escort won't start

No spark and/or no gas.

Spark is controlled by the coil, iignition module, distributor (cap and rotor) and plugs and wires.

Almost every time it will be the ignition module which is screwed to the side of the distributor and has a few wires coming out of it (about 6 wires, can't remember)

To verify the spark, by a spark tester at any auto parts store and test the spark by using the NO.1 plug wire. Be careful because if u have the 1.9 H.O. engine, it runs at roughly 35 000 volts and i kid u not.
As for no gas, either tank is empty (which i'm sure u checked) or bad fuel pump or fuel pump fuse.

Also verify firstly in hte trunk there's a fuel pump cut off switch. It's a reset for in case an accident happens, it turns off the fuel pump. I believe it's on the drivers side in the trunk on the side wall.If i remember there's an acces panel there in the trunk. Start by checking this first, then fuses.

Lemme know wut u find.

97 honda civic wont start.

If the car has over 100,000 miles on it, you may need to replace the distributer. I don't think the bad gas caused this issue I think it may just be a coincdence. But if you already changed the plugs, wires, distributor cap, and rotor, I would definetly check the distributor.
