Water pump replacment 1995 Ford Contour 2L

you have to check the fuse to the injectoirs as well as fuse to fuel pump start there they are under the hood in road fuse box

sparks, fuel pump, ecm, fuses relays.

You SHOULD replace the hose with NEW - look how hard it is to replace. Just cut the old one off - get new clamps the screw on type and replace it all while you got the engines torn down. This is the way professionals do it because if you come back a week later with a blown hose that is 300.00 labor - you will find a new mechanic.

remove the three bolts from the water pump pully....then remove the water pump...once the pump is out you will have to rotate the pump 180 degrees to get it out of the engine compartment....when you go to install the new one use a tiny bit of silocone to hold the rubber gasket in place so your not pulling your hair out...lol

AS A FORMER FORD TECH I HAVE TO ASK HOW MUCH PAIN CAN YOU STAND?
THE V6 WATER PUMP IS VERY HARD TO REMOVE WITH OUT THE RIGHT TOOLS, IT MAY NOT LOOK IT BUT IT IS.
BUT IF YOU REALY WANT TO DO IT YOR SELF I WOULD SUGGEST BUYING THE HAYES MANUAL. IT WILL HAVE PICTURES TO SHOW YOU WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO TAKE OFF. THAT AND A FIRST AID KIT.

check for worn hoses or pump shaft bearing leaking. all parts stores have repair manuels the cost about twenty dollars for a chiltons or haynes. berrydalewolf

You're probably gonna have to get your timing belt replaced and while you're at it get your water pump replaced. Also tell them to check your cooling system for leaks.

First if you coolant is boiling over you may have one on the following problem, bad thermostat-stuck closed. bad water pump bad radiator fan or fan switch or antifreeze leak-bad hose etc. Bad head gasket. Contact if you need more help,thanks for using FIX YA
