1998 Mercury Villager. Rear heater {blower) will not work. Checked fuses, changed rear control panel, Changed front control panel, Changed both front and rear Resistor. Checked power to the rear blower motor wiring is good. Still no blower heat and no control in the rear. The front works just fine with plenty of heat.I know i'm missing something but what could it be? Where is this Water control valve that everyone is talking about? Could this be a problem or is it still an electrical problem? I am at my wits end in trying to figure this out. I have checked almost everything that i could think of. Help solving this problem would really make the wife happy.

I have power rear vents on my 98 Villager that does not operate. I cannot locate it on the fuse box to replace so i checked each fuse and none were blown. Where is it?

go to our site for help.

your owner manual has fuse diagrams.

the qtr windows go through the power window relay. If other windows work, not likely the relay or timer module.

you need 12 volts at this wire on the overhead console switches.

  • Measure the voltage between the power rear quarter glass window regulator control switch C903 , "O/BK" and ground.

  • If no 12 v, SERVICE the "O/BK" wire between the power window relay and the power rear quarter glass window regulator control switch.
The ower window relay is above and behind the fuse panel on the dash. 2 relays and turn signal flasher in same area. Turn signal light on to locate flasher. 2 bolts hold bracket with relays & flasher.

The rear heater (blower) won't operate. Changed both front and rear control panels and both F and R Resistors. And of course checked all the fuses under the dash And under the hood, All seem to be good ....

You need to solder the 4 pins on the circuit board on the main heater control head. I have pictures and procedures posted here. I fix for $25 plus postage if you can't do it. But it is easy. Just put a small dab on each pin If you look with magnifying glass, you will see a tiny crack all the way around at least one pin.

1999 Villager: My 1999 mercury villager ac works in the front but...

you could just be low on freon. Add 1 can & see what happens.
Usually the rear works but not the front. I'm assuming the blower works back there.

It could also be the rear control for hot/cold. You can get an assembly at slavage yard for $10.

i have an extra if you find that is the failure.

Rear Air & Heat does not work on '97 Mercury Villager.

It's probably the cracked solder joint on the control assembly in the frony. I fix them all the time and sell them for $30 plus shipping. I always keep a spare repaired in my garage. villagers & Quests are noted for this. Don't know why you don't have lights on rear panel. I keep a spare one of those too, but it should have no affect on heater performance. Let me know if you are interested. You have to send yours back to me though.

If you are a techie, I will refer you to our Villager forum where there are files and photos on everthing about Villager & Quest issues.

see the circleed area where the bad solder joint is on the backside of the control head.
