Hello jreal.... That loud squealing is your serpentine belt or one of the pulleys that it spins. I recommend that you change the serpentine belt and when it is removed, check each of the pulley wheels and replace any that are wobbly or that squeek. IF this is the first time this car's serpentine belt has been changed, getting 13 years out of it is very good! Joe
Thanks for choosing Fixya!
CHECK THE ALTERNATOR BELT IS TIGHT AND SERVICEABLE . THE EXTRA LOAD ON THE ALTERNATOR WHEN YOU START THE CAR IS CAUSING THE BELT TO SLIP.

OK, the motor that you are referring to has lots of cooper windings and internal parts that can become misaligned during long term operations and extreme heat situations. this noise you are hearing is basically a warning sign that is trying to tell you that this motor is failing and will go out soon.

Probably a belt getting loose or worn. If alternator has a separate one than the rest, try just tightening it up. My guess is that it's probably all one belt with a tensioner pulley, which means you can't tighten, (spring tension already applied by tensioner) you have to change the belt, to get rid of noise, and if noise comes back in short time, think about changing tensioner.
