Im having brake problems i have a leaky brake line cant see uo in to the spot where the leak is i think its right at the clipthat the line sits in any tips? thanks

You CANNOT repair a leaky line, I'm afraid. You will need to replace the leaky section. Don;t forget to bleed the brakes afterwards.

Hi Chris, The brake system is basically very simple. If you have duel braking on your vehicle, the usual method is having two brakes operate on the front with for example the left rear and the other system will also operate two front and the right rear. This type of system will have two calipers on each of the front wheels. The tandem system works in a slightly different way, having the forward part of the cylinder pressurizing the rear brakes and the rear part of the cylinder pressurizing the front. I think under the circumstances you are describing, I would have a friend sit inside and pump the brakes repeatedly until the system becomes pressurized (maybe twenty thirty times of pumping the brake pedal) and then ask him or her to keep it pushed firmly down until you find out where its leaking. The amount of brake fluid you report having been sed would indecate a severe leakage. Check the lower parts of the rear wheels for signs of leaking wheel cylinders and then dito for the front wheels. Any signs of wetness at these areas and along the brake system (the plumbing or pipe work) will indicate where the leakage is. If you cannot identify a wheel which is leaking, carefully inspect around and blow the master cylinder and if this no sign go along the fluid lines, taking special note of where the damaged pipe was repaired. If there is a blockage in the line, air may be trapped at that point causing difficulty in pressurizing. Once the place of leakage has been identified it must be attended to before bleeding the system. When bleeding, begin with the wheel furthest from the master cylinder, and work your way back to the master cylinder one wheel at a time, until you reach the closest.Keep in mind that you may find it required to pump the pedal many many times before opening the bleed nipple.Regards John

need to replace both rear brake hoses,
before you proceed with the bleeding

Look where the fluid is coming from under the car if it is in front of the car it is a front brake line issue these are easy to fix. look at the brake hoses on the left front and right front behind the tire these usually these lines dryrot and leak. the front steel brack line will usaully brake where they are mounted on the car body. If your brake line is leaking from the drivers door back it is a rear brake there is a single brake line that goes to the back and splits into two lines there is another rubber hose by where they split. you can fix brake lines with new steel line and compression fittings where you slide on and tighten the front is 1/8 size line and the back brakes are 3/16.

No diagram you must look under and find the leaky one.Fill up master cylender get a drain pan to put under car for when leak starts squirting out save a mess also DOT 3 BRAKE FLUID ONLY!.use a yellow crayon to mark it so if leak is under seat area mark it then follow it to the wheel it goes marking every couple inches.Now go back and work you way to the other end that goes to master cylender! you will have now found your leaky line.

If you aren't experienced with brakes you should see a mechanic. With metering valves, proportioning valves, ABS accumulators and other variables they need a trained eye. A master cylinder could be leaking into the vacuum system and not visible. Sometimes a wet backing plate can identify a leaky wheel cylinder. Portions of the line are rubber hoses. Even parts that are not leaking may be damaged and causing problems elsewhere.

is it the "red" brake warning light? if so, its possible the master cylinder may have an internal leak causing the pedal to be soft. if this is correct you'll need to replace the master cylinder.
If this is the "yellow" brake warning light it the ABS system (anti-lock brake system) you'll need to have a professional inspect this.

You have a vacuum leak for sure. Look and listen carefully for anything left off, maybe an egr valve or pcv hose, brake booster line?
