Today I was at the intersection and my car just died. I had some people check out the engine and they stated that my ECU is not working. Question where is this located and how do I know this needs to be replaced. They tested the volts it runs 12 volts and gas is not getting to the jets?? Thanks for your time.
Look under the hood, in the fuse box. Is the blue 15 amp EFI fuse blown? If so, there will be no power to the ECU. The ECU is located under the glovebox, passenger side.
Mine did that and it was a broken contact in the base of the EFI main fuse. We could tell because the check engine trouble light, in the instrument cluster, did not light up when the ignition was turned to ON.

Keeps blowing the 15 AMP fuse to the EFI
It is a 89 Toyota PU. Idle fluctuates up and down. Truck dies and blows the 15 amp fuse for HRS after it dies. Come back the next day, repalce the fuse and it starts up again. the tow bills are killing me and mechanic just replaces the fuses.
