I have a 2001 dodge stratus it started everything worked fine untill i took the radio out to put in a aftermaerket in, now the car wont start but everything works normal
It could be But my guess is it is the safety netural switch could even be a starter you can test it but you need jumper wires with aligator clips, you can try turning on the lights and turn the key switch over and if the lights dim slightly then it means it is making contact and pulling volatage but not starting, if the lights don't dim slightly then it could be the safety netural switch. If you can work with jumper wires and a couple safety stands I can help you test it.
EGR Valves rarely go bad. the EGR solenoid is common though, you can get it aftermarket, thats ok. The valve bolts on, 2 bolts, the solenoid just has hoses and a small elec plug.
Proper way to jump your car is to attach the jumper cable clamps to the marked posts on your car...on the vehicle that is jumping you, attach the positive clamp to the positive post and the negative clamp to some piece of metal on the vehicle...can even be a screw as long as it sparks a little (grounding). Don't connect the clamp to the negative post.
i have a similar problem with my stratus except mine is a 95'. I haven't fully figured the problem out but i have been told to check all of the grounded wires you have hooked to your car.
