1985 Toyota Tercel Wagon 4WD. Turn signals up and quit working. Replaced Fuse in Driver kick panel...no go. All other lights work, brake, parking, headlights, etc. Dash lights work also. Maybe something with the fuse panel under the hood? Thanks JB

I am assuming you mean the red light on the dash that says "brakes".
That light is powered by the parking brake switch and the pressure switch for the hydraulic brakes. If the parking brake is on, or the brake fluid is low, the light comes on.

Turn signal tail lights and BRAKE LIGHTS NOT WORKING

It can be faulty brake light switch causing the problem or its blown brake light bulb. First check and confirm brake light lamp is working and that's not the case.

get a fuse tester and find out which fuse runs the turn signals, if the fuse is good, then you need to replace the turn signal / relay (usually about 5-10 $US)

There is another fuse panel by the passengers foot. I don't have a map for it, but the fuse would say parking lts or inst lts.

Check that the brake lights are working. The solenoid that lets the gear lever out of park is triggered by power from the brake light circuit. If the lights are not working check the fuse an replace if blown.

vacuum leaks in these old cars are frequent you need the vacuum lines replaced they become porous and are extensive, also the timing must be tweaked to 10 degrees instead of the recomended 5 degrees as long as the car does not ping going up hills this is a essential modification to OEM recommendations I own a 1985 4wd station wagon replace the O2 sensor 35 bucks rockauto.com

Call a local Wrecking yard and ask them what the interchange is. I know there are some ratio differences between the years. And you have to match the front and rear tooth for tooth.

sounds like the wiring was repaired and someone tapped into the headlight circuit instead of the parking light circuit
