My 2005 accord's radio will power on, but nothing is coming out of the speakers. at one point the speakers would produce a sound and then cut off and even after having this problem was able to turn off radio and then turn back on and it would work. However no sound comes out of the speakers. Any idea what this is? Is it a loose speaker wire or is it the radio itself?

If you remove the radio, you could check the speaker wires with an ohmmeter to see if any of the wires are shorted to chassis ground. If they are not, the radio is the problem.

May be the amp in radio is out. Put an aftermarket radio in.

SOURCE: My 2005 Accord's radio / CD player will not

The sound chip may have gone in the stereo, especially if someone has had it on very loud they sometimes blow, otherwise you have 2 speaker wires touching each other, that way you only get static noise, insidee the door they sometimes come free and touch the body

Check all your speaker wires first.

SOURCE: NO SOUND Radio 2005 CIvic LX Sedan 5MT

Have you check the mute setting if you have one as well as the balance, fader and volume controls? This seems obvious but I figure it's worth a shot. Good luck!

No sound from rear speakers Kia Sedona 2005 Front work fine with full sound but nothing from back speakers

Assuming the radio has an output for rear speakers and it is connected to them and you have selected the front/rear fader and attempted to adjust it to the rear, you can't do much more without removing the radio and checking the connections and the wiring to the rear speakers.

When I am faced with this problem I disconnect the speaker wiring from the radio and using a 9 volt battery and two lengths of wire I test the speakers and the wiring by connecting to each speaker in turn. A good speaker with good wiring will produce noise when the 9 volt battery is touched to the terminals. If there is no noise the speaker or the wiring is defective.
If all tests ok then the radio is probably faulty. This can further be tested by connecting temporarily to alternative speakers.

2005 nissan altime ,my speakers stopped working when I was driving after turning the air on ,sound only comes out of one little speaker in the driver door , any idea on what the problem is ??

Sounds to me like Blend door actuator arm or something behind the radio got a hold of the wiring, Either cut or yanked it out. I would pull the radio to start. Hope this helps,Good luck Randy.

Probably not a speaker issue. Most likely it is in the radio itself. I have found several helpful hints on-line so try to google this before going and paying anyone to do it for you.

Radio work with all the light but no sound, this is on 2003 Honda Accord.

because the light on the radio come on with dash lights doesn't mean the radio is working, check fuse for radio,if its good, check for power at radio connection,if you have power there see if you can see a change in stations when you turn knob,if you do make sure all connectors are plugged in radio, now go to an easy access speaker and plug in a known good speaker

I have a 2000 Honda Accord. The radio works but there is no sound coming out of the speakers. One day the the speakers all crackeled and I didn't here sound again. What do I do? Is there an amp?

I had an issues where the my radio was working but no sound was coming out of the speakers. My problem was that the passenger speaker was disconected, and the wires were shorting out the radio. So I took it in to a pro installer and we put in a new speaker to the passenger door and hooked it up properly. The deck then started playing music fine.

Make sure your speakers are all connected properly, and that your wires have no cuts in the plastic that would expose the copper, causing them to short out. Also check your fuses to see if you blew any.

Hope this helps.

MY FACTORY RADIO VOLUME PROBS

More than likely with a 2003, the speakers that cut out are in the door or doors. Do they cut out of both speakers?

If they cut out of one, then you may have an intermittent speaker ( the wire to the cone becomes partially connected)

If both speakers turn off at the same time and you hear NOTHING on all speakers, then you more than likely have an intermittent connection on the radio itself and probably replacement is probably cheaper than fixing the radio.

One more thing
Factory radios sometimes have an amplifier in them. Sounds funny but they call the Radio in the dash the Head Unit and the amplifier is buried in the dash. You could have a bad amplifier or a loose power connection to it, but that is very unlikely.

Hope this helps.
