Turn key to on position do not crank you should hear a grrr grunt sound that is your fuel pump but i think you will not hear the grunt because your fuel pump is most likely not functioning.

The car cranks but will not start. There is good fuel pressure but no spark. Thinking it could be the cam sensor or the throttle position sensor. Any other possible causes for the non start

Yes, check your plugs and wires... the throttle body and also check all of your vacuum hoses as well.

Pull one or more of your spark plugs and check to see if they are dry or damp with oil. This could be the result of bad rocker cover seal and or the seals around your spark plug chambers.

When attempting to start the car, if it turns over but no spark, then check plugs and wires, if you hear a clicking noise, then it could be a blown starter motor.

I think someone tampered with my 2000 gmc Jimmy to keep me from driving does anyone have a clue to what they think may have been tampered with to keep it from fireing

There are a lot of thing's someone could do to make it not start , but they would need access to under hood or inside your vehicle ! don't you lock your Jimmy ?
Does the engine turn over , I mean when you turn the key to the start position does anything happen ? Some people just don't know what I mean when I say this ! Engine cranks no start or no crank -no start ! Are there any lights lit on the instrument cluster , SECURITY ? this will keep it from starting ! Does it have spark at the spark plugs ? Spray some carburetor cleaner into the engine to see if it tries to start !

May be you vehicle won't start because of lack of maintenance ! How many miles does it have on it ? Do you change oil regularly ,spark plugs etc...

Engine cranks but wont start intermittently

It sounds like 1 of 2 problems or both first the temperature control sensor witch tells the computer the ambient temperature outside and as it gets colder out tells the computer to give more fuel the other thing to check is the throttle position sensor that tells the computer what position the throttle is in those 2 things together are like a choke on a carburetor seeing it fuel injected you can't pump the throttle you will flood it so the computer has to do it hope this works

1998 honda civic. car wouldn't start. thinking need gas. get gas. prime throttle body (maybe a little too much accidently) however, waited a day.(battery was dying from all the attempted starting. put an...

The only matter there should be in the throttle body is air. The throttle body in no way has anything other than "nothing" in it. The liquid you see could be the gasoline you threw into the throttle body.

Getting back to your problem. Do NOT have someone looking down the throttle body while you are trying to start the engine. That person may receive a haircut he will never forget! Get the battery charged. Try to start the engine because even though you think you put too much gas in the throttle body, it may start.

The tricky part. If the engine starts and runs for a few seconds, then you are having a problem with fuel delivery and that is the fuel pump most of the time but not always.. If it does not start at all, try one more time to pour gasoline into the throttle body, hold your foot about 1/2 way down on the pedal and then try again to start it. If it still doesn't start, it's time to check for spark.

Suddenly died while driving. Turns over but won't start. Ran for a sec on ether so spark is not an issue. Throttle body was making an add noise so replaced but new one makes the same noise. Still will not...

Should have it scanned for blink codes (DTC) before you start speculating on parts you think are malfunctioning, replacing them even if they were just fine.

Even if you don't have it scanned, at least have proper knowledge diagnosing systems using Benrley's Factory repair manual.

Nine out of ten times I still have to glance my manual's pages just to feel satisfied that I did it the right way besides the torque spesifications.

Just my opinion, geustimating is long gone and replaced with a system that tells you it's about to break or it's gone, regardless if it's an electronic or mechanical part.

I started the car for 15 second and then shut it off. when tried the following morning it engine would crank but would not start

if u start an rx8 without letting the engine heat up fully before switching it off then it floods the engine with fuel, a rotary engine problem, ring the dealer and they will be able to sort you out, is costly though... ALWAYS LET THE ENGINE FULLY WARM UP! before switching off!!

also rev the engine to 4000rpm and turn the key with foot still on the throttle when turning the engine off, to prevent flooding

My gas pedel gets stuck half way down some times

The throttle position sensor is most likely bad or it just may be the throttle cable but I think it is the Throttle position sensor it is located near the throttle valve follow the throttle cable to the end this is where the throttle valve is and the Throttle position sensor is located near the throttle valve on the opposite side it will have a plug going to it and it is held on with two torx head screws purchase the tools and replace.

I have a 93 Jeep Wrangler 4.0 that cranks and doesn't wanna start. Fuel Pump is working and has good fuel pressure. Problem is coil loses power after the first start. I put in new distributor, new coil,...

Ok...you mentioned that there is no spark coming from the coil when it's in no start...Is there power from the alternator going to the coil?
One other item...If the timing chain is worn and stretched, it is possible that the cam sensor and crank sensor are out of phase with each other, just enough where a temperature difference will change starting ability.
One question...while in no start, have you tried changing the throttle position while cranking to see if it lights at part or 3/4 throttle?
