2000 Dodge Neon. Have a horrible "Grinding" noise from front left wheel area. Pads were replaced a month ago and appear fine. Also, in this same area, when going forward sometimes there is a "clunk or a loud clicking" noise when first starting off. This noise will go away when you hit about 20 or 30MPH.

SOURCE: 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan Front Noise

I had the same problem, my mechanic has had this same problem with other 2003 grand caravans. Flush the power steering fluid, replace it with ATF+4 and add Lucas power steering additive. Apparently dodge has posted the fluid that was originally used is causing this problem. $100 and it is purring like a kitten

SOURCE: grinding noise when I pull off and clunking noise on bumps

Front hub bearing. If you were the one who replaced the pads you should have turned the hub while the caliper was off and checked for roughness or wobble. Imagine the rotor wandering from side to side and rubbing the pads; thats what a worn hub will do.

SOURCE: My car is making a loud noise from the front end

Hi Becky Your mechanic should be able to find your problem. They will lift your car so your front wheels swing free and shake your front wheels around. The bad part can be found this way. Theres a lot of things this could be. But yes it would be a joint or bearing. Hope this helps you.

SOURCE: 2003 Dodge Neon 2.0 auto. Driving over bumps in

hello, only a sugestion but I would have the suspension checked, try pushing that side of your car down firmly and let go straight away. If it bounces 2 to 3 times that is fine, if its slugish this could very well be the problem. I hope this is of some use.

Grinding or rubbing noise in left front wheel, mostly when braking . What do i look for?

Grinding is a sign on brakes in need of replacement. Your pads are worn through and now the metal backing plate of the pad is grinding up against the rotor. Replace the pads and rotors asap to prevent further damage.

I just had the starter replaced in my 2005 Dodge Neon and now when I accellerate there is a horrible grinding noise. Its only whne I press the gas and stop. When the car is in neutral its fine and the same...

Ok...this might be an actual problem with the brake pads.....as if it was starter related, then anything that could g wrong with that change, would cause a noise at idle, stationary, driving, stopping, basically anytime the engine was running.

But, because this is only happening at driving, and stopping, i am more inclined to look at a brake issue, possibly replacement brake pads.......

2000 Chevy Blazer 4x4...started making a horrible loud noise after my cruise control went out. I have recently replaced my hub and the brake pads and the CV axle. The noise comes and goes and only happens...

does it get louder above 45-60mph? and much quieter at low speeds. It could be wheel bearings, a rear differential or front differential. If its a grinding humming noise its wheel bearings, listenin to see if theyre coming from the front or rear, left or right, or both when your driving to know what wheel bearing are bad. If its a whinning noise, its probably a differential. check and listen to hear if its coming from the front or rear. Also, check for loose plastic around the wheels. Lastly check your tires for uneven or choppy wear. move your hands front to back on the top of the tire. does it feel really choppy and rough, maybe you just need new tires

Front drivers wheel. not a click. not a clump. it is a squeeling grinding sound progressively getting worse each time i drive it. brakes are fine. ball joints replaced a year ago

may be the bearing in one of the front wheels. raise the front of the car and grasp the tire on top and bottom and move it up and down is either one loose? the hub assembly on that side may need replacing. check this area first to see.hope this helps

I replaced my front btake(both) 6 month ago when driving loud noise coming from the fronti can feel the brade pad grinding against the rotor when I turn

If you Failed to Tighten Any 1 of the Caliper Floater BOLTS and it Has Fallen Out This Will Cause the Noise you Discribe. Remove the Wheel from the SIDE YOU SUSPECT the NOISE is Coming From and INSPECT the Caliper and Pads, If the Bolts ARE there and Tight Check the Brake PADS and If they are Worn DOWN to Metal The Problem Is LIKEKY the Caliper Has SIEZED UP and Needs REPLACED along With Brake PADS and ROTOR.

Check the front drive axles and boots. A bad cv (constant velocity) joint can cause this.
