1986 Accord - fuel pump relay problem - HELP!

Thought my fuel pump went out - replaced it, but still won't run. Replaced relay next, and it ran for around 50 miles and quit. Now won't start. No electricity to fuel pump - blue wire from ignition coil dead. #1 fuse going to relay is hot. I'm stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated - I need a car running by Monday morning! replaced fuel pump on 1992 honda accord, no power to pump.Where is the fuel pump relay located?

Relay is under dash on driver side behind cruise control box. You tube has a demonstration on there for 92 accord.

Just replace a fuel pump myself and had the same problem. I found that the wires going to the pump inside the tank where grounded out. While setting the pump in the tank I got the wires pinched between ths tank and the cover. Hope this helps.

One guy mentioned carb cleaner. I would use starting fluid due to the fact that if it is a fuel problem the car will run for a few seconds on starting fluid. If it won't run on starting fluid then it's an ignition issue. If it runs on the starting fluid then check the inertia switch & fuel pump relay.

Could be the main or fuel run relay located in the compartment under the luggage rack, passenger side, main relay also, fuse for the fuel relay 8amp. Electronic Control Unit is also located there.

Could be electrical, Hook up a timing light, three leads: Power, Ground, and one that goes around the wire to #1 cyl. Turn the engine over and see if there's firing. Note: u can check all 4 spark plugs this way.

Fuse lead goes to pin 30 of the fuel relay, u can jump 30 across to 57 and check for the pumps running, if not, change-I suggest both relays, main and fuel run relays. Both pumps get their 12v DC from the fuel run relay, both should be running when you switch ignition switch to on, then a tachymetric signal is fed from the coil to the relay to keep it running.

Accord fuel pump won't prime

sounds more like the ECM than a relay, to me.

My 92 Accord LX stopped running, I replaced plugs, wires, distributor cap, fuel pump and car still won't start

You will need to check for spark disconnect a sparkplug wire at the distributor and leave a 1/4 air gap, crank the engine, do you see a spark,if you have spark then solve for no fuel this can stem from a needed fuel pump that has failed.

86 thunderbird... quit while driving.. traced it down to no fuel ... pump is good .. replaced relay ... still not engaging pump ... next step ?

Did you replace the fuel filter. Did you check the fuse? How do you know the pump is good? Just because you hear it running does not mean it is pumping any fuel. A fuel pressure test will verify if the pump is indeed good. If it is the OEM pump I would bet it has failed. It is rare for a pump to last 25 years.
