Access rear trunk release cable

Trying to get the trunk opened, have wedged under rear-tail light to access release cable but can not find it.

Anyone have a picture or diagram to allow access?

    Battery is OK and the switches to the solenoid appear to be working fine because the rear trunk makes that familiar whirring noise as if it's trying to open but it doesn't. The Boxster is MY2002 and I learned that there is a REAR trunk emergency release cable. Can't find it though......any ideas exactly where it's located?

    I have a similar problem... I lost my FOB Key and now my primary rear hood cable broke.. AND I deff. don't want to pay a dealer to help me open it. PLEASE GOD TELL ME THERE IS AN EMERGENCY CABLE for the rear hood on a Porsche Boxster 99

This happened to me too on my Porsche Boxter S 2004 - the actuator is working, the battery is charged - but the rear trunk won't open from the key fob or the inside release.

I removed the driver's side rear tire, I removed one nut from the wheel well cover closest to the back of the car, I looked inside and saw a cable. The wheel well cover could be pulled back enough to fit my hand in, so I reached in and pulled - the tunk popped open.

The problem is that my primary rear trunk release cable is broken - still need to fix that problem - but the trunk is open.

OK - might not be the same but I have just collected my son from the station, he loded in his luggage and pushed the boot (rear trunk to you in the States) closed. When we got home it would not open on the key or the sill release buttons - just the familiar whirring sound. After some thought I raised the rear spoiler to get a grip on the rear edge of the offending lid and (after ensuring it was unlocked) it just lifted up. The problem was his sleeping bag strap - it had fallen over the catch recess as he closed the lid and was taken down with the catch. This provided just enough friction to prevent the lid from popping up normally.

Try pressing the fob trunk button while pushing down on the trunk lid as sometimes the latch mechanism gets dry and sticks. If you do get it opened spray some silicone spray onto the latch and wipe off excess with a towel. It is possible that something got caught or wedged into the latching unit. As Malissa said try unhooking and reconnecting the battery to see if the BCM resets and lets the key fob work.

Cables are not hook up to battery someone close trunk now cant get trunk open
Why are your battery cables off? Does the trunk have a key lock? With some makes and models, the rear seat back will fold down, allowing access to the trunk. If not, you may be able to remove rear seat back then see if you can access the trunk.

If the trunk release is electric, have to check wiring circuit and applicable fuse.

What is model year, I'll try to look up trunk release wiring circuit.

How do i replace left rear brake light bulb
1) Open trunk
2) Remove small round plastic access panel with a flat tip screw driver by prying open
3) Remove flat tip screw holding tail light assembly
4) Remove tail light assembly by pulling outward, careful not to break plastic guide/nub
5) Disconnect wiring connectors
6) Remove plastic housing access plate on back of tail light assembly by twisting/turning tabs until they click and then lift access plate from tail light assembly
7) When viewing the the bulbs, the turn signal bulb is the bottom left bulb
8) Install in reverse order, ensuring tail light seal seats properly during installation

Rear trunk on boxter porche
Manual release cable located behind rear bumper / tail light. Stainless cable and very hard to see, but it is there. Just remember, it is very firm to pull, so use pliers once you find it.

I went to open my 2005 Toyota Corolla trunk using my car key. When I rotated the key, the mechanism went 90 degrees CCW but the trunk remained locked. I tried the trunk release in the car but it wouldn't...
If you have rear seats that fold down you can access the latch mechanism from the left side rear seat....if you are flexible. pull the corner of the seat forward to allow your arm to slide in behind. about 14-16" in, feeling up inside the trunk you can feel 3 quarter size holes in the sheet metal. The second hole has the cable release arm. stick your finger up there are pull towards you. this will release the seat allowing it to fold down. Crawl into the trunk. there is a glow in the dark release handle on the inside of the trunk lid to open the trunk. Note, these are instructions for an '04 corolla but I think it should work

Hi, yes there is. To release the trunk - look on the centre console, just rearward of the front seats and you will notice a separate rectangular section in the plastic, if you lift this out you will find a cable release for the trunk underneath. To open the fuel filler cap manually, look inside the car just behind the rear light on the same side as the fuel filler and you will notice a flap in the interior trim, which is to allow access to the rear lamp. Open this and then looking towards the top you should see a loop of orange plastic - pull this towards the rear of the car to release the fuel filler.

Get access to the cable for the trunk release. Have it pulled to open the trunk.

Burned Out rear turn signal bulb
Use a #20 Torx screwdriver to remove two screws located on the inner side tail light assembly w/ trunk open.
Pull taillight assembly straight back from the vehicle to get it off. You may need to utilize a wedge to gently work the top and bottom of assembly away from vehicle on outer side. Be careful though as you don't want to scratch the paint
Once removed, twist applicable light cover counter clockwise and pull to access light bulb.

How to access rear light bulbs/ 2005 pontiac g6
Once you open the trunk you need to unscrew the 2 little black knobs that hold the cargo nets on. This will release the truck carpeting. Pull the carpeting back and you will see the gray metal around the backside of where the taillights are. There are two nut/bolt combination that you will need to unscrew (If these are not too tight and use a regular pair of pliers to grip them). Once these two nuts/bolts are removed push on the screws that they were attached to... This will push the entire tail light out of its place on the back side of the car and you can pull it out now to get to the lights. There are 3 lights that will come out if you turn the black fittings and then pull out.
