I recently put a new alternator and starter in my 93 ford f150 with a 4.9 liter 300 6 cylinder and the truck will start fine but will not stay charged enough to run possibly a battery or a wiring harness maybe?

hey johnny it's definitely your starter relay it's locked inside and is sending power from the battery directly through the relay from one cable to the other straight to the battery that's why it continues to keep starting this happened to me and the starter motor just kept turning and my truck would not shut off
this is it it's on the fender or right next to the battery change it there about $15-20 bucks good luck Stephen and trust me this is it
Well, the Diesel does not use Electronics to fire the cylinders. So you have a Timer system for the glowplugs and that is all. If you rig up a cheater light on one of the glowplugs and fuse it and run it to an added light inside the cab, you will know if the glowplug circuit is staying on or not. It should only activate a few flashes on each cold or lukewarm start and then stay off.
Alternator brush plug-in. The plastic clip containing the contacts for the tab in the Alternator can ride up when a Mechanic tries to install this wiring lead.
Rear window defroster staying on. Sneaky. Can be on without indicator light showing. Can break contact as Negative ground is disconnected.
Transmission solenoids and converter use electric. Possible short.
Battery Saver- Can deactivate charging system even at 70mph. Anti-theft- Can reduce battery voltage to starter.
check your fuses also youll be suprised. The alternator runs down the battery if its bad or it could be the starter and ect. A multimeter would be something you could use also to check battery and the wires.
who put in the alternator and battery. when you rev up the motor the alternator is push more volts. are the wires all hooked up right. there is a starter relay . but i think a wire is touching or is not hooked up right
