P0717 - Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit No Signal.

P0717 code means that the computer isn't getting any signal from the sensor. Either the sensor is dead or there's a circuit issue (bad wiring, etc).

The computer wants to know if the transmission is working properly. So it reads the speed of the input shaft and compares it to the speed of the output shaft. It knows which gear you're in because it commanded the transmission to shift into that gear. So, with the input speed, the gear selection, and the output speed, the computer can calculate how efficiently the transmission is working. If the speed is off, it knows that something is slipping inside the transmission. It can then try to boost the fluid pressure to compensate. If that doesn't work, it sets a different trouble code.

Hope helps (remember to rate and comment this answer).

2003 gmc envoy starts shifts into drive but wont move not transmission

If you're sure it's shifting into drive or lower gears and it's not moving, there can only be 2 other options #1 ujoints in drive shaft are broken and not letting the driveshaft turn or #2 the rear differential (rear end) is shot. Have someone look under the truck while you have the truck in gear and see if the driveshaft is turning...REMEMBER>>>DO NOT LAY UNDER THE TRUCK< STAY CLEAR OF WHEELS....don't want to get injured.

Car wont move in drive only moves in 1st and second gear from a stop but once you get going I can manually shift into 3rd and drive.

check the transmission fluid and see if is black Changed the Transmission fluid and added a bottle of Lucas. That's what i would try first the cheapest option lol.
If fails to cure try the sensor that controls shifting may need replacing. and some main shaft? internally may need replacing. Good luck hope you sort it

As I would drive the 2000 ford focus I'm not sure if it was the clutch or the transmission but its like the car would go to a lower gear for a minute and then catch back up. Then I happened to be driving...

I believe it's your clutch. If you can shift gears okay with the engine off, but you cannot shift gears with the engine running, (the gear shifter only grinds when trying to shift into first?) then your clutch has worn out.
To replace a clutch, the transaxle has to be first removed from the car. I'm afraid you will have to have it towed to a shop or garage.

Buick gear shifter moves freely and wont shift gears

you can shift it at transmission by hand to neutral or park and have someone inside start the car and you manually put in gear under hood and drive it to shop or garage, wherever

Shifting when warm

take your s-10 to a reputable trans' shop NOW!!
you have an internal problem,BUT if you'r lucky,it may just be the "range switch"on the side of the trans(hair dryer needed to heat the "goo"-sealer on the harness plug)

the trans' is in "limp(default)mode, just to keep you moving!!
driving it this way for a month WILL destroy the transmission!!
