So today my service engine soon light came on after a long drive last evening. Its a solid light and my last oil change was about 1,500 miles ago. I have a little over a quarter tank of gas. I was wondering what the issue might be and what the price range for that issue would be.

In that year it might be two poss things.the light was not reset when the oil change done or there is a problem with the emissions section which is all about the fuel injection side.suggest to check with shop to see if was reset.otherwise the computer has to be scaned

I changed my spare plug wires but still the engine service soon light still is on

I have a 1999 Mercury tracer. I was driving down the highway two weeks ago and my check engine light came on. i went to autozone and he said something about misfire on bank and vacuum leak. He said it bascially was a tune up. i got in my car the next day and the light went off. it didnt come back on. Last sunday i got a tune up and a oil change. i was driving to work today when my service engine soon light came back on. could it be because its been warm here in st louis and all of a sudden its cold. or do i just need to get it reset. i hope its nothing major because im broke right now and cant afford to get it fixed

I have a 98 toyota camry with 91,300 miles on it...check engine light is on.

on the 98 toyota camry check that the gas cap is on tight or look at my fix on the toyota sienna that could be it or a vacumm hose could be split or leaking i would have these checked before you get into very expensive repairs look for the obvious first

I have a 97 Chevy Lumina. It has 276,*** miles on it. I bought it used 4 months ago. It was running excellent then the service engine soon light, low coolant light, and change oil soon light started coming...

The fact that the oil was low would not be from the oil pump, but from wear in the engine. If it is not smoking when you start it or as you drive, you can probably keep it running by just keeping the oil level checked at each fuel fill-up. As for the car shutting off, you didn't say if the engine seized or got real hot. A low oil pressure problem should have triggered a warning light before the problem got to the point where you lost the engine.

If the car ran after you added the oil, you got lucky and need to always check it.

Suddenly, No tail lights, brake lights, turns signal or back up lights At 83000 miles, 6 months ago, replaced head gaskets. 1 week later, service engine soon light came on. Tech said it was an oxygen...

just look for the blackened/burned pin on the rear light plastic connector and sand it down to re-establish a good electrical connection and save yourself $800 big ones on replacing the multiswitch.

Service engine light staying on

Hello tdamm...No...the service engine soon (SES) light on your yukon is not telling you to change the oil.
This is a warning light that is illuminated when there is a problem affecting the Emission system and the engines computer management (ECM) has detected it from a fault. It could be something as simple as a loose or defective gas cap. If the SES light is blinking, it's more serious....
The yukon needs to be connected to diagnostic equipment (scanner) for fault diagnosis.
You can go to autozone they will hook up an OBD II scanner to your vehicle and explain the codes to you.
Good luck...i hope this helps and will fixya up.

Engine light is on.

Your vehicle’s computer system has self-testing capability. When the computer senses that there is a problem with some of the components it stores the correspondent trouble code(s) in its memory and lights up the Check Engine or Service Engine Soon lights to tell you that there is a problem and you should have the car diagnosed and repaired. Not fluid related, but could be a small problem that's easy to fix now. Even a loose gas cap can turn the light on. Have a code scan, that's the starting point.
