Ford seem to shift this sensor around a bit.
ok, try on the intake manifold, especially under it..
Try in the throttle body, especially at the back.
Have a close look around the cylinder head as some are fitted directly into the head..

I have a 2000 ford focus 1.6i zetec can you tell me where the coolant temperature sensor is located please

The temp sensor will be close to or in the thermostat housing.(top radiator hose). A temp sensor also controls cooling fan. this sensor is usually mounted in the radiator. I strongly recommend that you purchase a Chilton manual for this vehicle.

2000 ford focus we ztec, oil leak high up in engine, stops when goes a quart low.

Ztec's are bad for valve cover gasket leaks. especially around the holes in the center.

Where is thermstat

Assume you are asking about the thermostat. You can find it by tracing the radiator hose to where it connects on the intake manifold. The piece it connects to is the thermostat housing. The thermostat lives inside that housing.

Location of temperature sensor that operates the temperature gauge

Follow the upper rad hose to the thermostat housing. It will be there. There are two, one is the ECT (engine coolant temperature SENSOR) and the other is the temperature SENDING UNIT (input for temp. gauge ONLY). f83e91b9-4b48-476a-8c50-10735b376bf1.png

Dash temp guage goes to red on 2000 ford focus dohc zetech

Because you have done so many repairs already I would most likely say that the gauge is defective. I would use a manual temp probe and probe the coolant temp after the car has reached operating temp. Coolant will be between 180- 230 degrees. If coolant temp checks out and you can see coolant moving in radiator and the vehicle does not overheat then you will need either a gauge or a coolant sensor. To locate the sensor it should either be mounted in the thermostat goose neck housing or the intake manifold.

Where is the coolant temp sensor on buick riviera

Follw the upper radiator hose to were it joins the engine. This is the thermosat housing and the sensor should be screwed into it or right next to it. you will be able to match the new part with the old at that point. always change on a cold engine so as not to get burnt by hot coolant.

Cooling fan switch/or sensor

The Coolant temp Sensor is located right under the top radiator hose (on the engine side), with a little black connector!, You might have to remove th etop hose to get to it with a deep socket and extension!.
Also Dont Forget to blled the coolant system by the bleeder valve uptop right near/above the coolant sensor!.(10MM Mini socket w/ extension IIRC!)
