Hi!!
Check under dash, passenger side, if necessary, remove cover to access Blower Housing Assy., the harness has two terminals, one for the Blower Motor and one for the Blower Motor RESISTOR which is fastened by two 7 or 8 mm. screws to the Housing.
Here is a picture of the Blower Housing Assy. showing the Resistor.
Good Day!! A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.
Remove panel under glove box area u should see blower motor follow wires bach to the resistor should be held in by 7 or 8 mm bolts
The best way to locate a blower resistor is to follow the wiring from the blower motor. The blower resistor is usually pretty close to the blower motor. This system works on most vehicles.
The connector that plugs into the blower motor under the glove box became too hot and melted the plastic resulting in the a/c and heat not to work (this includes the windshield defroster). I've been looking up problems and solutions and found that this is a recurring problem with GMC and chevy trucks yet there has not been any recall, in fact the dealerships have an extremely overpriced kit to fix their faulty wiring. About 66,000 mi.
