I ran a diagnostic on my 2001 Acura TL and got the following codes: P1361 - Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor A (Top Dead Center (TDC) Sensor) Intermitten interruption or Top. P1366 - Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor B (Top Dead Center (TDC) Sensor) Intermitten interruption or Top. Please what does this mean and what should i do?

It sounds to me like a timing issue. Did you recently have the timing belt changed on the car? If not, then it seems that the bad sensor is tricking the car into thinking it is out of time. My guess is that the sensor will need to be replced, then if it is only a code issue, the problem should resolve itself. If the timing belt has not been changed recently, when was it last done? the belt could have jumped a tooh knocking it out of time. I would say step one is replacing the sensor, reset the code and take it from there. Hope this helps, Good luck.

I have 97 Honda Accord 2.2 non VTech. Replaced timing belt, seals, water pump, crank sensors. Did not have code before I done work. Now getting p1361 and comes right back.

P1361 = Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor A (Top Dead Center (TDC) Sensor) Intermittent Interruption,or Top Dead Center (TDC) Sensor Intermittent Interruption.

Could be a wiring problem or dirty connectors.

I replaced all my oxygen sensors in my 2004 GMC Sierra 2500HD with a 6.0 gas engine. Immediately, code P00342 came on.

It wouldn't be P00342 - P0342 is correct . Did you check the code on youtube . for repair video ?

Question is does the O2 sensor wiring integrate with the cam position sensor and cause this code? ????? No it doesn't .
Circuit Description
The camshaft position (CMP) sensor works in conjunction with a 1 X reluctor wheel on the camshaft. The powertrain control module (PCM) provides a 12 volt reference to the CMP sensor as well as a low reference and a signal circuit.
As the camshaft rotates, the reluctor wheel interrupts a magnetic field produced by a magnet within the sensor. The sensors internal circuitry detects this and produces a signal which the PCM reads.
The CMP sensor 1 X signal is used by the PCM to determine if the cylinder at top dead center (TDC) is on the firing stroke or the exhaust stroke. The PCM can determine TDC for all cylinders by using the CKP sensor 24 X signal alone. The engine will start without a CMP signal as long as the PCM receives the CKP sensor 24 X signal. A slightly longer cranking time may be a symptom of this condition. The system attempts synchronization and looks for an increase in engine speed indicating that the engine started. If the PCM does not detect an increase in engine speed, the PCM assumes that the PCM incorrectly synchronized to the exhaust stroke and re-syncs to the opposite cam position. If the PCM detects that a CMP signal is constantly low, DTC P0342 sets.

Diagnostic Aids
The following conditions may cause this DTC to set:
• Camshaft reluctor ring damage
• The sensor coming in contact with the reluctor ring
• Foreign material passing between the sensor and the reluctor ring
• Excessive camshaft end-play
• Wiring routed too close to secondary ignition components

P01361

Diagnostic Test Code (DTC) P1361 s a "manufacturer-specific" DTC, and for a 2000 Honda Accord, it applies ONLY to the 3.0L V-6 engine (which would have been nice-to-know up front - especially when you are asking for help repairing your engine controls).
DTC P1361 is defined by Honda as "TDC1 Sensor Intermittent Interruption".

(Note: TDC = Top Dead Center. PID= Process IDentifier)
A diagnostic scan tool capable of watching the TDC sensor PIDs (and preferably, graphing them) is REQUIRED to: (A) determine if this is truly an intermittent condition or a "hard fault". (B) verify PID data while testing for intermittent connections in the wiring harness and connectors. (C) verify that the concern is actually fixed after any repairs are made.

What is involved to fix check engine light codes P1361 and P1362 and how much should I pay a reputable mechanic

The code P1361 and P1362 can relate to a TDC sensor failure, the plug could be dirty or you may need to replace the sensor. Here's a walkthrough:

http://www.civicforums.com/forums/115-engine/323984-diy-tdc-sensor-cmp-sensor-replacement-w-pics.html

P1362 means the PCM isn't getting a signal from the TDC sensor. The TDC sensor is actually the camshaft position sensor.

TDC is also a Crank Position Sensor, Advanced Auto Parts has them for $70, or you can pick it up from your local dealer.

How do I fix a Interruption in TDC #1 sensor circuit problem on a 2001 Honda Civic? THe code is P1361 and P1362

P1361 is a misfire code, and P1362 is a TDC sensor (or crankshaft position sensor) code. The known possible repair is to replace the crankshaft position sensor. You may have to ask for a tdc sensor as some parts providers follow the mfr's part name.

P1361 TDC Sensor Intermittent Interruption (I got this from Engine-Light-Help.com)
TDC should mean Top Dead Center.
It is the sensor that tells the computer the #1 cylinder piston is at the very top. And therefore, fires the spark plug.

Since the maintenance done above, I believe the the timing marks for the timing belt is not lined up properly. Being off by one tooth will cause this problem.
