Just filled the gas tank in my 2006 f-350 turbo diesel super duty (6.0), started the truck and the guage showed a full tank. Drove down the road about 1/10 of a mile and the guage dropped to dead empty and the low fuel light came on. Pulled over, shut off and started truck several times. Sometimes the guage would go to full and other times to below empty. Drove about 5 miles home with the guage on empy and the low fuel light on, and the trunk drove fine other than the guage and fuel light. What would cause this?

A loose connection on the sending unit could cause the problem but also moisture in the tank in cold weather could also be a factor in which i would add fuel line antifreeze to a full tank of fuel..........Hope this helps you out.

F-250 super duty diesel 7.3 liter chocked out like out of gas now wont stay started

You probably have air in the line. Remove the diesel filter and if it's not full, fill it with diesel and try again. If not good repeater procedure again.

The fuel guage on my 2005 F250 super duty 6 liter diesel engine just went to zero and has 3/4 of a tank of fuel any assistance on where to check for a damaged wire or loose connection

wiring harness under dash.
wires coming off top of fuel tank.
check all fuses.
do you do a lot of off roading - you may have cut or pulled a wire out.
finally you may have:
1. a bad fuel tank sending unit - need to drop the tank to replace.
2. a bad fuel gage.
3. a bad instrument panel

Fuel guage-1991 ford aerostar

2 things.
There is a sensor that goes from the dash to the fuel pump. If it is disconnected, dirty, or faulty, then thats an easy fix.
There is also a float in the gas tank itself. From what Ive been told after time, or going over big speed bumps, etc, that the float just simply doesnt float or register.
Mine actually shows I have a full tank or im empty at all times. No in between.

Ford F350 Fuel pump replaced but fuel gauge shows 1/2 tank of gas

Has the repair guy 'monkeyed' around with your fuel pump? If the gas guage is in the tank like most of the nowadays trucks and he bent or done something wrong with the fuel pump when he had it out then I would say he should fix it the way it should be but it sounds like you were 'taken' for a 'ride' by that mechanic!

Gas Gauge not reading correctly

The most likely culprit is the sending unit in the tank. They are relatively easy to change, as long as you don't have much fuel in the tank. It's a mechanical unit that has a float that raises and lowers with the fuel level, however with age, the floats can develop leaks and no longer float, of the electronic portion of the unit can go bad and not register the proper level. They are replaced and an entire unit, so it doesn't matter which happened, you will need to change the fuel tank sending unit.

My engine keeps blowing out the anti freeze through the fill tank overflow. I have a 2004 Super Duty 6.0 turbo.

start you truck. let the temp gage get to where it will start blowing the antifreeze out. than turn your heater on full blast. if the temp goes down and the water doesn't come out than you need to change you thermostate.
