THAT IS CALLED AN...OXYGEN SENSOR...LOOKS LIKE A SPARK PLUG, LOCATED IN THE MANIFOLD JUST BELOW THE HEATER CORE WHERE THE HOSE CONNECTS.
COSTS ABOUT $13.00 AND YES I WOULD REPLACE IT!
DO A PRICE COMPARISON BETWEEN AUTO ZONE & ADVANCED AUTO, THEY BOTH PRICE MATCH!
HOPE THIS HELPS!
That could be the water valve that is controlled by the hot/cold knob on teh heater control, Have someone turn the knob to cold and then hot and see if you can see the valve turn.
Feel the inlet and outlet heater core hoses. They should be about the same temp when the engine is warmed up.
SOURCE: car warms up just fine but the heater blows cold air
both hoses is hot signifies thatcoolant circulation is just fine check the blend door actuator it might be stuck.pan the heater temp controller from hot to cold do you feel any change in temp of the air from the blower?if you dont feel any change check the blend door actuator

Hi!!
If your blend door actuator (HOT - COLD) control works, you probably have a clog in the heater core. Both hoses should be almost at the same temperature, it only takes coolant a few seconds to go thru the Heater core. Remove the outlet hose of the Heater core at the engine intake, plug intake using a piece of hose squeeze shut, route the hose downward into a container placed under vehicle to collect engine coolant, turn heater all the way up and start engine for a couple of seconds. This may unplug the heater core or at least will let you know if it is clogged. If you need to do this more than twice to clear heater core, make sure the coolant is refilled.
Good Luck! Keep me posted!
