Are you getting any codes MIL light.Sounds like a fuel problem when was the last time you changed the fuel filter. I would try this first although it could likely be the fuel **** try the easyest think first when the filter is off take an empty soda bottle put it on the line coming from to pump and crank the engine for 5 seconds if you don\'t get 4 or 5 ounces of fuel in the bottle the pump is not working correctly and needs to be replaced. If you get nothing then it may be a relay or some other kind of wireing issue to the pump and you can run a hot test feed to see if the pump is getting power. This would require instructions so try this first and see if the filter is the problem and let me know if you need more help pier_j

Spray some starter fluid in the intake. If it runs for a few seconds, the problem is probably the fuel pump.

Kelly, could be a few issues, security lock out, crank sensor, fuel pump fuse/relay, faulty new pump, faulty ignition switch, etc. Attached links may help you diagnose the crank no start issue you are having.

Cranks, no start on 97 GMC van with 350 Vortec. Fired up with starter fluid

if it starts with starter fluid then its a fuel problem. check the fuel pressure and volume with a gage. these require at least 56lbs pressure to open the injectors and if the pressure is at 52lbs the they will not open. these use the pressure to open the poppet injectors and have a problem with the spider lines cracking and leaking fuel inside the intake. this is probably why it won`t start on its own.

How to starting fluid air intake carburator

Not a great idea if you haven't done this before. You can start a fire, or even ruin your engine. However, in general, remove the air cleaner and spray starter fluid into carb (or throttle body) about one second (one Mississippi) and try to start. If it starts and continues to run, rock on. If it runs a few seconds and dies, you have ither issue and are not getting fuel delivery. Seek help!

Where do I spray the starter fluid (air intake?) for Chrysler Silhouette. Ran out of gas and it seems carburetor needs starter fluid to kick it..not sure where air intake is locater.. or where to open carb...

there is a large tube that goes to your throttle body (you do not have a carb), remove it and spray there-be careful, starter fluid is highly explosive, spray 2 or 3 short bursts into the top of the throttle body opening, and install the tube (you don't have to tighten the clamp). You may have to repeat this a few times, if you can only get the car to run for a few seconds 3 or 4 times, and it will not run on it's own, you have a fuel delivery problem, and no amount of starter fluid is going to fix it.

2000 chevy s10 blazer cranks but won't start????

Check for gas or spark problem on the engine. Check that starting fluid does start the car for a few seconds before dying, indicating a fuel delivery problem, like a fuel pump or circuit to it.

If the car won't start with starting fluid sprayed into the intake, then the ignition system may be at fault, or engine timing.

1994 S10 Blazer Tahoe starting problems

Well, obviously someone didn't tell you the truth because spraying into intake doesn't make the vehicle turn over any better. You have ignition or fuel delivery problem. Start by taking fuel line off at intake and crank engine a couple times catching any gas in a cup or something. If none, then trace fuel line back and under vehicle til you find filter. Should be under driverside midway back on inside of frame. Change this and try test again. If no gas, see if fuel pump is on motor(mechanical pump). Change this and test again. If not on motor then it's in gas tank(electric pump). Most cases the tank has to be lowered to take out pump, careful not to drop, dent or make sparks. Some came with access through the floor so check that first. Normally you can hear an electric pump come on when you turn the key. Good Luck
