If just the inner part is broken, remove both ends of cable, pull out broken parts. Buy a universal repair kit at parts store and follow instructions that come with.
if you have changed the distributor cap,rotor button,spark plug wires and plugs and you still dont have fire then its most likely your distributor.first check the fuses or relays if you have replaced those items.
on a cold start car will idle fast till it warms up then will drop to about 1000 rpm, try increacing idle speed so when it warms and drops it should stay idleing
Is the cap and rotor in good shape? Doesn't sound like a vacuum leak. It's possible there is a problem with your distributor but not sure what. Is the timing belt in good shape?
