This is easy. Lift the lid open. Look at the back of the sealed beam and you will see a clip and an o ring. Pull the clip up and pull wires back toward the driver's seat. Unscrew the o ring and firmly pull the bulb out toward the driver again. Note the 3 tabs on the bulb seat and realign the new bulb with those tab ( 2 bottom, 1 top). Replace with #9007 bulbs..do them both.

There is a difference between a headlight bulb and a headlight assembly. The question pertained to an assembly, which I take to mean the lense, reflector, adjustment screws and whatever else.

You can not use 9007 bulbs on Mercury Villager 1995 it will not fit, you have to use 9004 bulbs.

I just had to replace a bulb on my '95 Villager and it required a #9004 bulb. The 9007 I tried to use first didn't fit. Not sure if it's a variation in different productions of the Villager or if the #9007 is actually an incorrect bulb for any Villager.

It is a bit of a time consuming job it would be best to get a diagram to see where everything goes as this will help you alot otherwise take to a mechanic.

I'm guessing 7 mm torx from factory, but some are hex after calipers are replaced. Maybe 8 mm hex.

Headlights on 1998 villager just stopped working. Both sides. High beams still function as do side lights. where do I start looking??

check the 2 relays in the engine compartment, but it may be your turn signal switch on the column. The lights go through there for high & low beam.

Switch is about $50 and just 2 screws hold it on. remove plastic shroud whcih has 3 or 4 screws from bottom of shroud.
