99 hyundai elantra. I accidently left the cap off my reservoir when checking fluids and ended up overheating. Took it to a mechanic and they charged me for new hoses, thermostat, radiator cap and serp belt and my car is still overheating and the reservoir boils... any ideas?

How many belts on a 2002 hyundai elantra gt?

You should be able to see the power steering unit, it has a pulley on the front and a cap for putting in fluid, if the pulley is empty belt is gone, check fluid in reservoir if belt is there.

Screech sound from the power steering when turning to right or left

It sounds like you're probably low on power steering fluid. I think the power steering fluid reservoir on the 2001 Elantra is on the passenger side of the engine compartment near the front. It has a removable cap. On the side of the reservoir there should be two lines. These are the minimum and maximum fill lines. Add fluid to bring the level up to somewhere in between these lines. Make sure you use an approved fluid for the Elantra. Your owners manual will probably list a power steering fluid type or you could go to an auto parts store and they could look up the correct fluid for you. I hope this helps you out.

Pushing anti-freeze out the resevoir. Changed water pump, thermostat. Temp. gauge does not indicate overheating. Fans seem to be working OK.

Try replacing the radiator cap. A weak cap will allow coolant to leave the radiator and go thru the overflow tube to the reservoir.

2002 hyundai elantra power stearing pump replaced. Loud squeal and chatter when stearing left or right. HELP

was the p/s system bleed of air properly before running the new pump. wheels should be off the ground and the fluid reservoir full then wheels turned from left to right all the way and top of fluid as needed. then start engine and continue to cut left and right. fluid aeration will cause premature pump failure and noise. also ensure that no other parts are restricted, i have seen faulty valves in the rack or lines cause restrictions in the flow and cause the pump to fail even new ones. hope this will help you

Where is termostat in hyundai elantra

It is not likely the thermostat, because the thermostat is showing that it is overheating,so it is working, you must have a coolant leak somewhere. You will have to find coolant leak. Car is overheating because it is low on coolant

Car stering wheel is hard to turn left or right

your power steering pump has a cap on it.you have cold mark and hot mark.when car is cold engine not running.when you remove power steering cap it should be on cold mark.if not add until you get to cold mark on cap stick..dont over fill or you blow the seal.now when engine is hot been running.turn off car check.power steering cap should read full hot.mean level is correct.when you first check power steering fluid and it was real real low.you got a leaking high pressure hose.or power steering pump seal is leaking.if all check out good.your problem could be low tire pressure.worn ball joints.and tie rod ends.rack and pinion steering gear binding.

2003 hyundai elantra gt overheat

If the upper radiator hose is cool, but the engine is overheated than this could be a sign that the thermostat is stuck. By the way, the thermostat is at the end of the upper hose in the metal housing. There are two bolts holding it to the engine.
