Check for a disconnected or broken vacuum hose. You might've accidentally disconnected it or broke it since they can get brittle and break easy.

SOURCE: Car is not idling. Need to keep foot on the gas pedal to start.

Hi there,
there is a screw(situated in a hole) on the throttle body and this can be adjusted to increase the rpm. anticlock to raise the rpm.

Stuck gas pedal cause the car not to start

Yes, if the gas pedal is stuck fullt down the Throttle Sensor located in the throttle body will note the throttle position and shut down the fuel injectors. If in the future your fuel injected car becomes flooded, hold the gas pedal down and turn the engine over this will help free the engine of too much fuel.

I hope this may have assisted you,

I have a 2002 Chrysler Sebring and i just had the starter changed and now it shuts off when you take your foot off the gas pedal? it drove fine for about 5 mins but now when you take your foot off the gas...

try unhooking the battery and cleaning the throttle body. Open it up and clean it with an old tooth brush and carb cleaner, now hook up the battery. crank it up, hold the throttle halfway down until it clears up and runs smooth. now slowly let off the gas and it may idle ok. If not you may need to take it to a shop and have th e"adaptives and the Idle Air" rest using a scanner.

Jeep won't start

what generally happens with jeeps. is the idle air control valve loses memory of its idle position. try starting the vehicle with your foot slightly on the gas pedal. if it starts your going to have to keep it running by keeping your foot on the gas until it relearns its position and runs by itself. also there is a possibility that one of the modules locked up. if my first suggestion doesnt work then disconnect the negative batt cable for 30 seconds reconnect and then try to start it
