I have a 1995 Saturn SL1. It was leaking oil out of the rocker gasket and a friend of mine sealed it. I thought problem solved. I had full oil in engine and I was set to go. A week later I suddenly heard a noise on the passanger side or so I thought, there was a pop sound and noise for 5 minutes and then it stopped. The next day the engine light went on and I found I had slightly less than low on the oil dip stick and filled it up. My friend and I changed the PCP valve and the grommit connecting it to the rocker gasket but are at a loss as to where the new oil leak is comming from. I had oil all over and around the fan belt and the fluid containers on the passanger side of the car. No leak from the rocker gasket. Help! Got any ideas?

Spray the passenger side of the motor down with carb clean and wipe off everything you can reach. Get a bright light, like a drop light, and start the engine and look over the passenger side for leaking oil. If you don't see anything, shut it off and wait 5 minutes then re - inspect. If you still don't see anything, then you may want to go to your local auto parts store and ask if they have any AT205 or know where you can get some. Add 2 pints to the oil in the crankcase and see if you are still losing oil. AT205 is a super powerful seal swell and stops the majority of leaks - it can be used everywhere except the brake system. If you still have a leak you'll need to take it to a shop to find out where it is coming from - if the AT205 doesn't stop the leak, only a wrench will!! Also, see if you have any oil in the radiator - it may be your oil cooler has sprung a leak and is pumping the oil into the radiator, but I kind of doubt it - however this is a possibility and, if you can't find where it is coming out, you'll need the shop to find it for you.
Good luck and thank for using Fixya!!

Oil coming from main pulley seal on engine of saturn.

Then a mechanical person must replace that seal, no magical fixes for leaking seals. You can buy some goop off the shelf at Advance which says it will fix leaking seals, but if anything it will just slow it down and stop something else up. You might want to look around for a motor from a 95 saturn SC1, SL1, or SW1 which has much lower mileage and think about swapping that engine in. A junkyard can tell you exactly what engines will fit. There are many used engine vendors on ebay.

Burning oil but runs very strong with good plugs

Are you sure it's burning the oil? Check your oil pan gasket and valve cover gaskets for leaks. Is the car smoking? (light grayish or white smoke is oil, black or dark bluish is fuel) Could be bad valve seals. Also, main seals can leak oil out onto exhaust parts.

SPARK PLUGS FULL OF OIL

Do you notice a puddle under the car? Or smoking when you shut it off? The rocker cover gaskets are the culprit. If you have the spark plugs in a well inside the rocker cover, the will fill up with oil and also leak out the back. You can replace the gaskets, a fairly easy job, you have to pull everything off the top of the engine to get the covers off. And they give you the new seals for the spark plug well with the gasket kit. They only go about 10 years, I replaced mine and they are starting to leak again. Hope this helps.
