2005 honda accord hybrid - high pitch noise

At highway speeds the car makes a very irritating high pitch noise, the noise ceases only when the gas pedal is not pressed or the cruise control is not on. the car runs fine otherwise.

Yes, I have the same problem. At highway cruise with load on engine there is a very high pitch noise. As soon a you release pressue on the excellerator the noise quits. Dealer serviced the transmission at (45K) however did not fix the problem. I'm also experiencing a whooing/booming noise as certain speeds with VMI engaged. Dealer said the audio noise dampening system is intermedient and needs to be replaced ($850 for modual and front speakers).

Always had the problem of a lower volume high pitched sound, that increased to sound like a jet plane taking off in the distance. Now it has taken on a very LOUD tenor and makes me wonder if there is something wrong. ANyone else have this problem? What IS it?

I have the same problem and called Honda. One of their technicians said its related to transmission fluid and is considered normal, and there's nothing to fix. :(
