Do i have to remuve the fuel tank to change the fuel pump?

its in the fuel tank. you will have to drop the gas tank to change it. support car, disconnect fuel and vacuum lines to tank, disconnect fuel filler tube(hose you put gas into car), disconnect the electrical connections, support fuel tank, undo the fuel tank straps and lower fuel tank, clean area around fuel tank unit, remove the unit lock ring and pull out unit, follow the instructions that come with the new fuel pump and re-assemble in reverse order, replace the fuel filter at the same time.

Disconnect the battery, drain the tank with siphon hose, Drop the tank it has a submersible pump. Remove the jar top and pull out the pump and replace. Reverse steps to install.

The fuel pump is in the fuel tank. You need to remove as much fuel as possible, raise the rear of the car so the tank can be lowered. There are 3 lines going to the tank that must be disconnected and then the straps that hold the tank in place must be disconnected. Once you get the tank on the ground, the ring around the access unscrews counterclockwise. The sending unit assembly comes out and the fuel pump is on the end. Changing the fuel pump is easy.....getting to it is difficult.

No simple diagram for changing the fuel pump. It is located inside the gas tank. The gas tank needs to be removed to change the pump. The pump is part of an assembly which consists of the pump, fuel gauge sender and pick up. You also need to change the fuel filter when you change the pump. It should take a professional mechanic about 3 hours to drain the fuel out of the tank, remove the tank, change the pump and fuel filter. Multiple the mechanic's time by whatever the repair shop charges per hour for labor. There are several different pump assemblies for the vehicle. Price depends on whether it's 2 or 4 doors and 2 or 4 wheel drive. Best guess is about $600 total.

The fuel pump is inside the gas tank. The filter is next to the tank in-line of the fuel hose.

If there is an access, it would be under the back seat,otherwise drop the tank. My friend has my manual for the towncars, and can't say for sure.

i doubt you will have to change the fuel pump it should be located under the car between the tank and engine possibly more less toward the tank.
