Make sure the shift cable is working properly at the shifter and the transmission if you have good action then check the transmission oil (make sure you use honda synthetic oil or the car will shift hard) if they get low on oil they will send the shavings through the shift solenoids you can try to drain the transmission oil with the drain plug. (there is not a serviceable transmission filter )take the solenoids off and clean the screen in them but more then likely you will have to dissasemble the trans. The trick to these transmissions is never let them run low on oil or they get contaminated with the clutch shavings that go into the shift solenoids.they are famous for leaking axle seals if you get it working check your axle seals and replace them if they are leaking

2000 civic wont drive

Sounds to me that you might have lost your pressure plate or the throw out bearing. The only way to check is to pull your trans out and see if the presure plate is broke or the throw out bearing id gone. Sorry no quick fix on this one. It;s not a bad job to change the clutch assem. but it is time consuming.

you need a new reverse gear. the rest of your transmission should be fine but it will need to be rebuilt because you probably have pieces of the reverse gear floating around in it. it will eventually ruin the transmission if you don't fix it soon.

My car wont move forward or reverse

Chances are is that the torque converter needs to be replaced. However, the transmssion on this vehicle are only serviceable by transmision shops. No regular mechanic will open up the transmission. When the torque converter fails (clutch and plates shutters to small pieces) the debri flows in the transmision thereby potentially destroying the gears and/or clogging the filter and pump. Go straight to a reputable transmission shop and let them correctly diagnose the transmission.

Weird noises in drive and reverse

The high pitched whine in reverse sounds normal for a honda. Ever honda I have had makes a similar noise while in reverse. The spinning, scraping noise in drive is not normal. You might want to see a mechanic about that.

Reverse parking light wire color coding for Honda civic 02

Check the wires with the car in reverse and the key turned on, use a meter. On cars the black is usually the ground but you need to check to be sure.
