Fuel Gauge and tach not working. Scan tool shows RPM output from computer. Fuses to instrument panel check out ok. Took instrument panel out but too many complex chips for me to troubleshoot. Its a 1999 Beetle. Not sure if it happened after we took the car to shop for unrelated problem.
I have had a temperamental electrical problem for a long time and today, my 2001 VW Beetle appeared as if the battery was dead, but then the electrical system clicked on and I noticed that the speedomer, fuel gauge and tachometer weren't working. I have not identified the source of the problem yet.
speedometer , tachometer and transmission stopped working
car is running ok just no lights on the dash board
the engine is just running quite well
Odometer quit working when I changed out my motor.
gauges and lower instrument panel lights still work... checked all fuses good... still no odometer, tachometer, etc panel lights
speedometer and tach not working
